Penny and Chippy
A story about growth mindset and persisting. How different mindsets exist. With a fixed mindset, it would be hard to see beyond what you know. Sometimes, it would even stop us from trying and learning new things. We worry too much about what we don’t know and it gets in the way of the fun in learning. With a growth mindset, we are constantly saying “yet” to ourselves. We view things we don’t know yet as a great challenge. With open mindedness, we are willing to hear different perspectives, and go on new journeys. We set goals for ourselves and we put in efforts to work on tough stuff! It is important to know what your mindset may be, and learn ways to change from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. Some days, we do get stuck. Don’t fret, just ask for help! Always ask yourself, is there anything I can do to make this situation different or better? Who can I ask for help? After listening to the story, what do you think you would’ve done differently if you were Chippy? Ready Ruby’s Cub Rescue
A story about an exciting rescue by a pair of unlikely collaborators. Today’s story is about: How we sometimes wrongly believe that we have no control over what happens in our lives. We also sometimes wrongly believe that we are completely responsible for the outcome of a situation. In fact, we all have influence over our lives, ourselves, and others. We can make waves and create change. At the same time, there are many reasons why things turn out the way they do. Since we are only one of many contributors to the outcome, we can stop worrying about our choices and start trying things out the best way we can. Zoomies with Winnie and Silvia
Every few weeks, Winnie and Silvia will have a "Zoomie" hour, where the two psychologist moms come together to discuss a particular theme and the takeaway lessons from their musings and self-reflections. "Zoomie" is a term dog lovers know all too well. Zoomies occur when our canine companions become overwhelmed with joy and energy, dashing around the room in an exuberant display of canine enthusiasm. In this episode, Winnie and Silvia reflect on the changes and transitions that have recently happened in their lives. What are some of your strategies for managing changes in your household?

Springen and Wolny’s misunderstanding: Jumping to conclusions
Jumping to conclusion can be so harmful! Sometimes we get things wrong if we do not have all the information we need. When we believe in something without checking if it’s true, we might be carrying a lot of wrong assumptions around! If we act according to our wrong assumptions, our actions may lead to a lot of problems. Be curious and gather some information so you can better understand! https://www.buymeacoffee.com/huskystorytime Story by Dr Silvia Liu. Artwork by Dr Winnie Hsieh.

Monster and the Little Girl
A story about an unlikely friendship between a Little Girl and a Monster. Today’s story is about: How curiosity about others can open up possibilities of beautiful friendships Sometimes, when someone looks angry all the time, they may simply be feeling scared or hurt. We cannot rush someone into feeling safe. We can only give the person time and a bit of patience to try and learn what they are going through. It is easy to judge a person by their BIG emotion since that is what we see first! This is where the old saying is true “don’t judge a book by its cover!” Story and Artwork by Dr Winnie Hsieh.
