  1. 9

Episode 23 - The Search for the Evilest Prostitute

DAGL and Xandra go back down to the bayou for Mardi Gras Massacre (1976). Did you know that if you're a low budget slasher, you can get away with just shooting the exact same murder scene three separate times? Use the same footage why don't ya- see if they care (hint- they will care). "Police try to capture someone who is committing ritual murders of women during Mardi Gras in New Orleans."   Mardi Gras Massacre (1976) is currently available for streaming on Tubi.   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of violence, nudity, murder, and the concept of sex work

  2. 8

Episode 22 - I Hate It When Cannibals Have Food Waste

Oh Anthropology. Wait no- Anthrofropadus? No, shit, Anthropophagous (1980)! Just when DAGL and Xandra thought they had their fill of cannibal moves, they find a way to fit one more.  "A group of friends and a hitchhiker become stranded on a tourist island where they are stalked by a disfigured cannibalistic killer who is prowling the island after killing its residents."   Anthropophagous (1980) is currently available for streaming on Internet Archive.   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of violence, sexual assault, and gore, cannibalism, suicide

Episode 21 - An Author Gets So Horny He Crashes His Car

DAGL and Xandra support women's rights. And especially at this point in the project, support women's wrongs. Exposé (1976) is a tale of sensuality, stalking, and semi-submerging a vehicle in a horny panic. Don't miss it. "A paranoid writer is unable to get started on his second novel. He hires a secretary and then his troubles really begin."   Exposé (1976) is currently available for streaming on Tubi.   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of violence, sexual assault, and murder

  4. 6

Episode 20 - This Episode Features a 22-Second Long Scream

Twenty episodes in, and some of the video nasties are starting to mesh together in a nightmare-ish way. What happens when you combine the director and crew from Cannibal Holocaust, the star from Last House on the Left, and the star from Cannibal Ferox? DAGL and Xandra are about to find out as they take on The House on the Edge of the Park (1980). "Two low-life punks are invited to a party at a posh villa and take everyone hostage after being humiliated by their snobbish guests, subjecting them to rape, torture and mayhem."   The House on the Edge of the Park (1980) is currently available for streaming on Screambox.   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of violence, sexual assault, gore, and murder

  5. 5

Episode 19 - Bigfoot Baby Daddy

Nineteen movies into the video nasties, and DAGL and Xandra have never had a movie so completely win them over and so completely lose them. This movie wraps you in its big, campy, hairy arms and throws you off a cliff. Everyone please welcome the first monsterfucker movie in the series: Night of the Demon (1980).  "An anthropologist and his students attempt to track down a Bigfoot responsible for a rash of violent murders, only to uncover something even more sinister."   Night of the Demon (1980) is currently available for streaming on Fawesome.   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of violence, sexual assault on a minor, sex with a monster

  6. 4

Episode 18 - "The Product of Idiots With Cameras" - Stephen King

The Ghastly Ones (1968) has so much about it that is fascinating. It was made for only $13,000. It's the oldest video nasty Xandra and DAGL have watched so far. Stephen King publicly hates it. You know what's not interesting? THE PLOT. This week's nasty is filled with gore and giggles galore.  "Three married couples are forced to spend the night in a Victorian-era house where they start getting killed off by a deranged psycho who's bent on claiming an inheritance they are all entitled to."   The Ghastly Ones (1968) is currently available for streaming on Tubi (thank you, Tubi   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of gore and domestic violence

  7. 3

Episode 17 - Irrational Peter's Big Day Out

"Fun" is not a word that gets attributed to video nasties very often. The excitement from DAGL and Xandra this week at watching a fun video nasty is palpable. You can genuinely palp it. And if that says anything about what we're in for in season 3 of I Fell In Love With a Video Nasty, it should be a nasty, goofy ride.  "Four friends camping in the woods inadvertently stumble upon the domain of a maniacal killer."   Don't Go in the Woods (1981) is currently available for streaming on Tubi (thank you, Tubi   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of violence

  8. 2

Episode 16 - Don't Stop Here, This is Cannibal Country

Just to be real with yall- a third of our episodes have been about cannibal movies so far and DAGL and Xandra are feeling it. This one, Cannibal Terror (1981), with its terrible dub, cartoonish tribesmen, and paper thin plot will have you begging for the protagonists to be eaten faster. "After botching a kidnapping, two criminals hide with their victim in a friends house in the jungle. After one of them rapes the friend's wife, they're left to be eaten by a nearby cannibal tribe."   Cannibal Terror (1981) is currently available for streaming on Tubi (thank you, Tubi   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of cannibalism, sexual assault, kidnapping, gore

  9. 1

Episode 15 - The One Where They Yell David a Lot

After the past few choices from the Wheel of Woe, any movie would make DAGL and Xandra feel better. But The Slayer (1982), compared to other video nasties, is a literal walk on the beach. Where they scream "David!" a lot. "Two couples become stranded on a rugged isle, and are haunted by a supernatural beast, drawn to the wife of one of the couples, who dreams of its killings."   The Slayer (1982) is currently available for streaming on Tubi (thank you, Tubi   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of murder, violence, and self harm

  10. 0

Episode 14 - That's Where Your Steak Comes From, Janet

Faces of Death (1978) is the 70s equivalent of your worst middle school friend forcing you to watch LiveLeak videos for an hour and forty-five minutes. It boldly asks the question- how much do you really need a plot?   "A collection of death scenes, ranging from TV material to homemade super 8 movies."   Faces of Death (1978) is currently not available for streaming (shocker).   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Discussions of animal violence, people violence, gore, murder, suicide, cannibalism, medical proceedures, lots and lots of death

  11. -1

Episode 13 - Welcome to the Kinkshaming Corner

S.S. Experiment Love Camp (1976) is a movie that has DAGL and Xandra reconsidering all kinds of things- censorship, kinkshaming. But one thing they can agree on? It sucks that this movie exists.   "Near the end of WW2, prisoners of war are used in experiments to perfect the 'Aryan' race."   S.S. Experiment Love Camp (1976) is currently not available for streaming (shocker).   Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode.   trigger warnings: Sexual violence, torture, all the triggers associated with Nazispoltation films, suicide

  12. -2

Episode 12 – Zombie Rats, Cats, and Kids

Hell of the Living Dead (1980) (aka Virus aka Night of the Zombies aka Zombie Creeping Flesh) may sound like a word-salad of flesh-eating buzzwords, but get this- it feels like one too. DAGL and Xandra wade through yet another gory classic only to discover that this one features a real actual dead guy! "After an experiment gone wrong, a virus that turns people into zombies spreads throughout New Guinea. A female reporter and her cameraman, and a team of four commandos sent to investigate try to survive the onslaught." Hell of the Living Dead (1980) is available for streaming on Tubi. 13. -3

Episode 11 - Putting the "Toxic" in "Toxic Relationships"

Toxic Zombies (1980) or Forest of Fear or Bloodeaters brings up endless questions. Are these cannibals or zombies? Would anyone remember this movie if it wasn't labeled a video nasty? Is it possible for a couple in this movie to not utterly loathe each other? DAGL and Xandra buckle down to find out. "Marijuana growers deep in the woods are hit with a new toxic herbicide, and they turn into mindless cannibals killing everyone they come into contact with." Toxic Zombies (1980) is available for streaming on Tubi. (thank you Tubi Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode. Episode 10 - This Horror Movie Stole My Birthday

Madhouse (1981) aka There Was a Little Girl aka When She Was Bad has so much to love. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Creepy singing children. Gaslighting. But does all of this make it worthy of the infamous title of a video nasty? DAGL and Xandra will be the judges of that. "A woman is pursued by her murderous, psychopathic twin sister in the days leading up to their birthday." Madhouse (1981) is available for streaming on Tubi. (thank you Tubi Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode. Trigger warnings: discussions of human and animal violence

  15. -5

    Episode 9 - I Spit on a Movie Director

Welcome to season 2, you lil' nasties! DAGL and Xandra are back at it, watching the notorious UK video nasties so that you don't have to. And few movies have lived up to that mission like I Spit on Your Grave (1978). While it might have survived its video nasty branding to become a horror classic, is this one worth the 4+ sequels and remakes? "An aspiring writer is repeatedly assaulted, humiliated, and left for dead by four men she systematically hunts down to seek revenge." I Spit on Your Grave is available for streaming on Tubi. Thanks to The Damned for "Nasty", that tasty tune at the beginning and end of the episode. Trigger warnings: discussions of violence and sexual violence

  16. -6

Episode 8 - The Little Cannibal Movie that Could

Oh, The Cannibal Man (1972). How DAGL and Xandra misjudged you at first glance. What was presumed to be a run-of-the-mill cannibal movie turned out to be one of the favorites on the list so far.   "A meat factory worker accidentally kills a taxi driver, and begins gradually killing people close to him in order to cover up his original crime. He starts getting rid of the mounting corpses stored in his bedroom through his day job."   The Cannibal Man (1972) is available for streaming on Tubi. When he discovers that she survived the attack, he follows her to the hospital to finish her off." Who doesn't love an 80s slasher? And even better, a Canadian 80s slasher?? Visiting Hours (1982) is viewable on Internet Archive. "A young woman modeling in South America is kidnapped for ransom in the jungle when a Vietnam veteran is going to rescue her only to find out that the jungle is filled with cannibals." Perhaps a bit of a misleading logline, but another cannibal movie down. Even if there's only one cannibal in it.
