illa37X Roxz Never Stops, Nigerian born, east London based artist. Illa spent half his teens in 4 different states in Nigeria and 3 different cities in United Kingdom. Emigrating to London during the onset of grime emerging, he was inspired to communicate his array of experiences through music, “a therapy i forever treasure” he elaborates.Heavily influenced by traditional African music from King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, Onyeka Onwenu, as well as drawing influence from Outkast, DMX and Marvin Gaye. What comes out is nuance of R&B; Soul, Rap, undertones of Pop, infused rhythmic patterns of flows mixed with harmonies and energetic melodics of the African-Blues, amplified with the emphasis of a rap delivery that uses a commanding vocal temperament with a smooth, mostly raw cadence that garners attention to the core of the music being the message.
