In the 1970s, the Jesus People movement took California by storm. Out of the Jesus People movement, George Geftakys established a following that would reach across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Africa. With over 75 established sister churches, none of which took a name, Geftakys flew under the radar for decades while establishing abusive systems of control over his flock, all in the name of God. This podcast will show listeners what life inside this cult was like, as told exclusively by former members.
