    REPEAT: Master of My Own

While Andrea tries to limit screentime like she's some sort of toddler, enjoy a repeat episode that is most definitely not created using AI! Good luck to AI replicating whatever it is going on in this brain! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  2. 81

    K, I Did a Thing!

Covering the one Narcos entry that has nothing to do with the other two, so it's only natural we're going to talk about Colombia tourism... in Suriname? We learn the fictional retelling of the real story of one of Korea's largest drug lords... who lived in South America and the untrained undercover operative who took him down. We're also going to discuss the real story, and Suriname's former president who was accused to drug smuggling. There are a lot of topics in such a short episode. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  3. 80

    Sci-Fi is the Best Fi

The first stand-alone episode of our new batch is on the sci-fi series, The Silent Sea. Learn exactly how much Andrea loves sci-fi... and who you can blame for that. Hint: it's my stepmum. Blame my stepmum. Her choice 36 years ago is directly responsible for this episode. You're welcome. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

    Podcast Update and Repeat: Harbin

I'm not abandoning the podcast, just some good life news means the next few weeks are going to be busy, so a quick life update, a repeat episode, and a few new stand-alones in the works for the weeks ahead. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  5. 78

    REPEAT: Train to Busan

Due to reasons, we're doing a repeat of the Train to Busan episode. Relive Andrea ranting about dickish COOs, spoiled endings, and politics. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  6. 77

    Discharged from the Hospital

We're recaping the last two episodes of Resident Playbook with cameos from our golden retrievier and teddy bear, and zero references to rugby! We do, however, dip our toes into kpop (and cpop) territory. We've got relationships developing, residents trying to woo interns to their departments, important decisions, some just desserts, and, as always, a few tangents. So many tangents. It's like the host has ADHD or something! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  7. 76

Six Nations Is Done, Back to the Kdramas

This episode totally dropped on time to discuss episodes 9 and 10 of Resident Playbook! I wasn't a slow as Molasses dropping the pretend nice act in case the cameras are still rollowing in getting it out. No, siree! We've got a closeted Um Jay fan, a proxy war fought through the first years, and what might be Andrea's favourite cameo!! (Okay, it's not. My favourite one is coming, but it's a close second.) So, join us for the penulitimate Resident Playbook podcast episode for all things Six Nations Super Saturday!Wait. What? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  8. 75

    Missed Flights and Dumplings

It's episodes 7 and 8 of Resdient Playbook! We've got missed flights. We've got mother's staying in her daughter's hospital. We've got foreigners who only speak Russian. We've got a possible love V and the dismantling of a 10-year crush. And, most importantly, we've got Andrea not talking about sports for once! What more could you want? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  9. 74

This Will Not Become a Sports Podcast

Andrea starts her recap of Resident Playbook epiodes 5 and 6 with a Six Nations Rugby discussion, like all good Kdrama podcasts should! We're back! It's time to vent about Molasses like we're Nam-kyung venting to a patient! It's time to swear like our husband just told us we're going to wait two months and then try for a boy. It's time to second guess our life decisions like we're Um Jay looking at an ultrasound. Or like we're the English rugby team during the 2026 Six Nations tournament. One last dig before I post! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  10. 73

Angus, Agnes, It's All Korean to Me!

It's episodes 3 and 4 of Resident Playbook and Andrea can't remember the nicknames SHE MADE UP! Angus is totally the same as Agnes, right? And 20 weeks is the same as 20 months... if you're an Icelandic Shark! There is laughter, tears, references to elementary school teachers, tears, references to high school teachers, tears, and just to top it off, some more tears. There's a reason it starts with a content warning. Have the tissues handy. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  11. 72

    Meep Morp Robot Sa-bi

We're back with a new series, Resident Playbook, a spin-off of Andrea's beloved Hospital Playlist. It's the show that asks the questions what would it be like if robots became doctors? If anti-social people with crippling debt took up a resident position? If a former kpop idol was actually kind of annoying but endearlying so? All these questions and more answered as we dive into the first two episodes. Andrea's singing and cameos from Hospital Playlist characters included! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  12. 71

    We Are Done Like Dinner

We've done it! We've reached episodes 11 and $&%# 12 of When the Phone Rings. Look. I'm not saying that this episode did me in, but I did try and upload it without an attached audio file. Twice.Listen as Andrea loses her ever loving mind about entering an active war zone as a civilian in clothing you would wear for a nice day out! Be there when she cackles uncontrollaby about telling other people they need to put in some effort into their creative endeavors. Commiserate as she laments not having Netflix money behind her. There are not enough "I don't care" gifs in the world to cover the last 10 minutes of this episode. *sigh* Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  13. 70

And Andrea's Acting Award Goes To...

We are nearing the end of When the Phone Rings, so Andrea takes a moment to gush about Park Jae-Yoon's acting. Also, a quick nod to Yoo Yeon-seok, but really, Park Jae-Yoon stole the whole series for her. Also, the parents are still horrible, eels should not be used in children's mobiles, and a few rewritten song lyrics. Let's recap episodes 9 and 10! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  14. 69

    When The Brooklyn 99 Rings

We're back covering episodes 7 and 8 of When the Phone Rings, covering such topics like is anyone in this series an adult? Why are we still flogging this dead horse? And is Baek Sa-eon secretly Charles Boyle? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  15. 68

There Doesn't Appear To Be a Single Adult In This Show

Andrea needs to do a Search and Rescue for episodes 5 and 6 of When the Phone Rings because what the fark was that?!?! From underwhelming dresses to flogging a dead horse on a storyline that should already be done, there are a lot of growls of frustration in this podcast episode. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  16. 67

    Try Using Your Words

NOTE: Just realised that I selected the wrong Friday for publication date. Apologies for the late. As a result, I'll hold Tuesday's episode for a Wednesday release so this one doesn't get missed.Once again, the parents are awful, everyone needs to learn to have big people conversations and use their words, and the entire fucking country needs therapy. I mean, that could describe any of the episodes in When the Phone Rings, but we're specifically talking episodes 3 and 4. All that's missing in a measuring tape for the men. You know what that means! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  17. 66

    Starting 2026 With A Rant

All of Andrea's annoyance at 2026 already being a sh!t year has to to go somewhere, so why not towards a show she doesn't like? It's the melodramatic absurd ridiculousness of When the Phone Rings first two episodes. We're talking British Sign Language vs Korean Sign Language, we're talking not bothering to learn the language of a person you supposedly love, we're talking father's flashing their daughters in the hospital. Okay, that last one was entirely an accident and not the fault of the authors of this series. But the rest of this bullshit is their fault and we're going to rant about it! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  18. 65

    This Is A Podcast. NO!

Happy New Years! We're ringing in 2026 with a mini episode of a few of my bloopers from:All of Us Are DeadKingdomA Shop For KillersNothing like a great line-up of comedies just begging for a verbal faux pas or two! What day do new episodes drop? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  19. 64

    How To Pants A Podcast

To pants something, such as writting a book, is to do it without a plan. To that end, this was not the podcast that was planned for the final episode of 2025. But sometimes people go into holiday mode early and forget things. And then sometimes they realised what they planned actually would be a pretty funny series, so maybe we shouldn't do it as a stand-alone, so then you have to wing the episode, a.k.a pants it!Andrea discusses why she watched but won't be discussing The Trunk, Thirty-Nine, Bad and Crazy, or Undercover High School on the podcast, and it's not just because two of them are no longer available on the the streaming services she has in Canada. Hint, she says meh so much at one point, she sounds like a bleeting ewe. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  20. 63

I Am Not Qualified For This

We're coving the 2024 Korean movie, Harbin, about the assissination of Japanese Prime Minister Ito Hirombumi by An Jung-geun, so naturally, we're going to talk Canadian politics, Irish history, and HBO's "Rome". All things that naturally belong in a podcast about Kdramas, right? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  21. 62

    Working Nine to Nine!

Not satisfied with how much her day job already dominates her life, Andrea decides to cover two office romance series with "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?" and "My Dearest Nemesis". There's childhood trauma, nerdy tchotchkes, and another call for AO3 Seo Dan World Class assassin stories. Seriously, I am never going to let that go. I need them! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  22. 61

    Release the Bromance Cut!

Who needs romance when you have the best bromance in the history of kdramas? Andrea is talking Guardian: The Lonely and Great God. Or because it has a second name that is less syllables, Goblin. Complete with a visit to Canada. Not the best part of Canada, mind you, but at least it's not Alberta? (I'm allowed to make fun of Alberta. I spent many a summer on my grandpa's farm in Southern Alberta.) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  23. 60

    It's Queerly a Podcast Episode

We're covering three series in one episode! Yes, THREE!! Has Andrea gone mad? Or maybe, she just wanted to stick to a theme: queer up your media! We're talking about three LGBTQIA+ series in this episode - one from Korea, two from China - and how one of them caused a change to local laws regarding LGBTQIA+ content on cable television... and not in a good way. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  24. 59

Yellow There! You Sea What I Did?

We're journeying across the Yellow Sea to cover Andrea's favourite cdrama... so far. It's a one-shot for 'Master of My Own'. Also known as "Andrea's Happy Place Rewatch If It Wasn't 32 Episodes!" Does 32 episodes make it a united Ireland? Incredible that joke isn't in the podcast proper. The podcast includes, a synopsis, a breakdown of why Andrea loves it, and analysis of are men actually the more petty members of the species? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  25. 58

    It's All About the Comeuppance

The first stand-alone episode of Incheon Into My Seoul jumps into a Korean zombie movie... and Canadian politics. Yes, it's going to be that sort of podcast episode. Along with Train to Busan, we touch on Blood Quantum - oh, that's why we get an Andrea rant on Canadian politics - and Peninsula. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  26. 57

Attention Shoppers! We're Under New Management!

It's a discussion of physical health, mental health, and therapy as we cover episodes 7 and 8 of 'A Shop For Killers.' Who's going to be around for season two and whose death made Andrea cheer? Okay, so the 2nd half of that question doesn't require listening to this podcast to answer. But how many twins make it to the end of this season? Does Andrea's bus driving crush return? How do Germans pronounce the English word 'stop'? All this and more is discussed in this episode. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  27. 56

Even For Me, This Is A Lot Of Swearing

Andrea's cursing abilities get a workout as she continues to loudly express her displeasure about Jeong-min as we cover episodes 5 and 6 of A Shop for Killers. Maybe it's because Le Carre is one of her favourite authors, but she just finds it astounding that such a self-proclaimed genius could so obviously walk into multiple traps. He gives whole new meaning to spelling genius with a J!Also, hot men in a locker room. So, the episode isn't just Andrea being angry. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  28. 55

    Getting My Captain Holt Moment!

It's wolves, hyenas, and backstabbers, oh my! Episodes 3 and 4 of 'A Shop For Killers' brings up issues of gun safety, how to take out drones, and why you shouldn't trust 20-something men who randomly show up on the day your uncle dies. But kickass women who call your uncle 'gege' are 100% trustworthy. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  29. 54

    What's In a Name?

We've done it! We've talked crazy-killer-zombie Queen, now it's time for a killer-in-a-cool-sense no-longer-a-teen. Okay, it was a stretch to make that rhyme but I did it. We've got Tanzanian politics, we've got Irish politics, we've got pro-trans rants, we've got Andrea doing an Irish accent, and somewhere in amongst all that, we've got a rehash of episodes 1 and 2 of A Shop For Killers. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  30. 53

    My Empire of Dirt

I had this all set to go up on time, but then the Tanzania election happened and I decided to add my addendum. In the 20-ish so minutes it took to remove the previous episode, record the addition, export it, and then re-open Acast, well, the Tanzanian government had shut down the internet. So, it's going up a little late. Usually, that's my fault. But this time, it was 100% beyond my control. Why is this Tanzania's fault? They've been having riots since the election on October 29th. The entire country is without internet and phone communication is very limited. I wasn't even sure if the airports would open before my flight was scheduled to depart, so *yay* that this episode is up only a day late for Halloween! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  31. 52

    And Queen Takes Bishop

Andrea prepares to soon bid farewell to what is one of her favourite series we have covered so far. In amonst the court intrigue and possible causes of the zombie infestations, we cover royal families, cinematography, and Andrea's repeated attempts to speak her mother language, English. She left a few mucks in this week on purpose because some times, laughing at the host is better than laughing with them. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  32. 51

    Can You Sing Backstreet Boys?

We've made it to season 2 of Kingdom. While working our way through episodes 1 and 2 of the second season, Andrea giggles at Brooklyn 99 and questions what is wrong with her. It's a rhetorical question, but the answer is "so much." Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  33. 50

    And That's Just Basic Math

We wrap up Season One of Kingdom, covering episodes 5 and 6 while Andrea sings Chris de Burgh, explains math using geography, and screams "I fucking knew it" more times than is necessary for a single episode of a podcast. Hell, probably more times than is needed for an entire season of a podcast. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  34. 49

Dangae Calls For Aid And Rohan Will Answer

Today, we learn that "eat the rich" has always been a valid choice as the elite of Dongnae abandon the people who actually make socities actually fucking work. Andrea has opinions on this. Well, it's pretty much the one you just read. Also, head in a box is a much less enjoyable SNL skit. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  35. 48

Politics and Zombies, A Winning Combination

We have reached what might be Andrea's favourite kdrama of this entire podcast. It might also be the one that breaks her because why is transliteration so hard? WHY? We've got political intrigue, we've got a mysterious disease that resurrects the dead, we've got body-shaped, bloody sheets, we've got "hey, it's that guy" actors! What's not to love about this series? Except maybe the inability for Netflix, Wikipedia, and IMDB to agree on spelling of names. And the queen. Seriously. If this was Among Us, the queen is suss! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  36. 47

    We're Still Friends

We've done it! We've reached the end of our first spooooky season entry! Find out who makes it to the credits and who doesn't. Listen to Andrea sniffle her way through a cold, and definitely not the feels when discussing friends who live far away from you. And you can go down with the Hajin ship, but don't get bit! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  37. 46

Childhood Music Heros with a Side of Zombie

Covering episodes 9 and 10 of All of Us Are Dead, Andrea brings up childhood songs, tap dancing in roller skates, and how craft supplies will save the world! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  38. 45

SOS, Andrea Goes on a Rant... Again

What does SOS have to do with Andrea getting into arguments in elementary and secondary school? Thanks to her discussion of All of Us Are Dead Eps 7 and 8, you're going to find out. I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. Andrea actually ships a hinted at but never canon-official couple. Also, Eun-ji gets a name and the actress Oh Hye-soo gets all the praise from Andrea. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  39. 44

Not To Drone On About It, But...

Covering epsidoes 5 and 6, we're flying drones, we're firing arrows, and we're contemplating when is a zombie not a zombie? The kids in the school encounter all sorts of challenges, like dealing with human emotions, while Andrea encounters the challenge of why you shouldn't start recording a podcast at 10pm on a Saturday night. So tired! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  40. 43

Zombie Tag is the Worst Tag

Blame it on the incorrect notes or being tired after a day in-office, but Andrea spends most of this episode trying to remember if she said Cheong-san or Cheong-su. These are things that happen when you're so tired you could pass for a zombie in episodes 3 and 4 of All of Us Are Dead. Does anyone else need to go to the bathroom? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  41. 42

    It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's a New Series!

We're kicking off a spooky season double header with All of Us Are Dead. We discuss why vets make the best friends during an outbreak of zombies, the throat clearing sounds of Swiss German, and why crows and ravens are our friends, not bad omens. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  42. 41

    Bloopers Round 1

How many times did Andrea mix up Yang and Jang? At least three. Probably at least an episode, but I didn't think to count that it was too late to figure it out. What does it sound like when you blow your nose directly into the microphone? You might not want to know, but you're going to learn if you listen. It's the very first blooper edition of the podcast to tide you over until I'm feeling a bit better and can actually hold a thought in my head for longer than a minute.Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  43. 40

    Better Late Than Dr Cheon

We have come to the end of season 2 of Hospital Playlist. It all gets wrapped up in a way that worries Andrea we will never have a season 3. Or is it series? And it leaves Andrea in a mood in which a rambling, repetitious monologue is the only way to go. "But I really loved this series!" Rinse and repeat. For 10 minutes. So long to Ik-jun, Kim, Andrea, Chae, Yang, Jang, Min-ha, Major, and all the rest. But I really did love this series. I'm not ready to say goodbye! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  44. 39

Moving the Chess Pieces For One Night in Bangkok

Covering the penultimate episode of Hospital Playlist Season Two, we talk about unpronouncable last names, why Kim and Major should be everyone's favourite couple, and how close we are to BC's rainy season. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  45. 38

Open The Door, Get On the Floor

Everybody walk the dinosaur, indeed! Andrea covers Hospital Playlist season 2, episodes 9 and 10. Will Kim and Major get back together? Will Min-ha's mom ever figure out what a bear is? Will anyone actually hike Dinosaur Ridge? The questions are endless, the answers less so as we gear up for the final 2 episodes of this series! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  46. 37

Grab a Cup of Tea, It's a Long Episode

Horror movies, love stories, and too many emotions! Andrea's covering season 2, episodes 7 and 8 of Hospital Playlist. There's a snap attack between BC and Korean campfires, an ode to the joy that is Korean BBQ, herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across Fawlty Towers, and a confession on how a specific storylline kind of broke me. All that plus bad jokes and singing! What's not to love? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  47. 36

Keep Canadian Politics Out Of KDramas!

It's Hospital Playlist, season 2, episodes 5 and 6 where Andrea covers such important topics like why she should be better about recording what's his face's name in her notes, how the creation of life really is a miracle and we should be more impressed by the lack of birth defects considering every cell replication is a chance to a genetic fuck-up, why she promises this isn't actually a Canadian Politic Podcast in disguise, and why not Zoidberg? Also, a full descent into giggles for a good 5 minutes. Professional AF around here! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  48. 35

    SpongeBob Character Development in KDramas

Actually publishing on time for once, Andrea covers Hospital Playlist season 2, episodes 3 and 4. She talks Doctor Who, tells some inappropriate jokes, and democratically elects herself president of the Dr. Dear Fan Club. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  49. 34

    Chi-Chi-Chi-Chia Pants!

In true Andrea-Mucks-It-Up Fashion, we are finally back a day late! But don't worry, no dollar short because this is a free podcast. Finally back after an extended (and unplanned) summer vacation, Andrea returns with Hospital Playlist Season 2. We're editing out explicit words Andrea didn't mean to say, suggesting cilantro pants as autumn's hottest new fashion trend, and resurrecting the robber of future children. Hosted on Acast. 50. 33

We're All Going To Meet In Stuttgart

We have arrived at the end of Series 1 for Hospital Playlist covering episodes 11 and 12. Andrea rehashes the episodes while explaining Catholic guilt, more rosaries and sandwiches references, and why series 1 was able to end on a cliffhanger! Hosted on Acast.
