    Episode 17 - Myths of Humility #4

We have 7 myths of Humility. As a Māori and Pacific person bought up within our indigenous environment we are always reinforced the importance of humility. Some of us though have taken some of our humility training and using it in the wrong way. Humility wasn’t supposed to make ourselves small but to make the people you serve even bigger. Enjoy the 7 myths of humility that we have seen across our indigenous leaders and how we need to combat some of them to actually be HUMBLE. Website: surl.li/rjjenInstagram: surl.li/rjjcqLinkedin: surl.li/rjjfcFacebook: surl.li/rjjcy

Do you prefer to look successful or be success?A short kōrero around the difference between looking successful and being successful. Episode 10 - Patai Pai. Whānau sending through questions to answer

As an indigenous business that serves indigenous people we get a lot of whānau who ask questions around the current environment. Here is one of the podcasts with some interesting questions:We get questions like – What do you think about the government axing the Māori Health Authority?By serving indigenous are you not creating division? And many more – so have a listen. We ensure that every answer we provide aligns with our values and more importantly with the assumption that the questions are asked with positive intent. Website: surl.li/rjjenInstagram: surl.li/rjjcqLinkedin: surl.li/rjjfcFacebook: surl.li/rjjcy

We are in a time where anxiety, depression and suicide are more apparent then the time of the World War. We need to normalise conversations – we are not in the counselling or psychology game. In business and in life the gap that separates the best from the rest are the gaps between your ears. Which is your mindset. You can create a palace or prison in your mind it's your choice. Episode 8 - So you want to be rich but you don’t want to get rich slow?

The wānanga podcasts are longer kōrero or discussions around main themes within Indigenous Growth. Which delves into bigger reasons on why we do what we do.What would financial freedom look like for you? The most nervous Michael has felt about sharing a podcast – he didn’t start from the bottom but started from below the bottom financially (debt, evictions, poor mindset, ill health and intergenerational poverty – financially but rich in family). At 35 he is happily married, 3 healthy Tamariki (children) owns his first home on a lifestyle block, runs a profitable business, property, investments, earning in the top 1% of the country and almost at the stage of financially freedom as he is building intergenerational wealth. He shares this because he’s sick of being the exception and wants to show that once you see it’s so simple you won’t get caught up in the hype and magic. What makes magic so amazing is that it so stupid that you can’t fathom how they did it? He shares his tips, and his kōrero which is not to boast but to give insight and show that we are made to thrive, not barely survive.Website: surl.li/rjjenInstagram: surl.li/rjjcqLinkedin: surl.li/rjjfcFacebook: surl.li/rjjcy

Episode 7 - Is your business a curry or a hangi?

The wānanga podcasts are longer kōrero or discussions around main themes within Indigenous Growth. These delve into bigger reasons on why we do what we do.A great analogy given from one of Michaels teina from university “Tamoko” mainly because Michael is a huge fan of curry. The analogy is – if a Māori makes a curry, and only Māori eats the curry does that make the curry Māori. This wānanga Podcast Michael shares his journey to building Indigenous Growth – how he believes it is a hangi and authentic. He also shares some tips for anyone else that wants to start a business and even gets into sharing some big mistakes he has made that he hasn’t shared with people before.
