In this episode we’ll meet two more volunteers who help directly in two of the most well known departments: A+E and Pharmacy. We’ll also explore how calls are routed to the hospital and examine how technology has transformed the responsibilities of a switchboard operator.

In this episode, Ben delves deeper into the diverse roles that volunteers play across various hospitals, ranging from transporting patients to conducting surveys to assess their care. Plus, we’ll meet one of the youngest volunteers to listen to a performance by a ward musician.

In this week's episode, Ben investigates catering within a hospital, from the cafes and restaurants to the food by the bedside and speaking to the teams behind it. He talks to the Head Chef at Heatherwood Hospital about preparing meals for the staff and patients.
