A collection of improvised pieces some based upon structured Melodies others created in the moment. 1. The Calm Based upon a moving Pentatonic melody. 2. Ebow My first time improvising around an Ebow. It was amazing to work with so I'm defiantly getting one to add to my collection of preparations. 3. Eight Modes An experimental improvisation on the nature of sound. Based around the eight settings of my vibrator which can be heard at the beginning of the piece. Yes everything you can hear is coming from the piano. 4. That Bloody Egg Shaker My attempt at humour with the title. During the process of experimenting around the theme before recording I had a lot of trouble keeping the egg shaker attached to the strings. 5. Trail to Nowhere A Piano improv based around a repetitive rhythm. With a simple melody that was designed to come out from the rest of the sound. The piece itself stays still throughout only having slight alteration from A minor to F minor.
