Josh Thomas and Friends and You

This week Josh and Tom remember meeting in high school.         

This week it's just Josh with Penny! It's an episode about staying out of the muck by remembering all the love you have in your life. But also maybe dipping a pinky toe into the muck...  Josh cries on the podcast for the first time - a classic convention in the form.   A foundational pillar, a recurring motif of the genre. Not something we’re planning on repeating often.   

This week we're talking to Mums! Josh checks in with his Mum about her mental health 10 years after the broadcast of Please Like Me - a show that's kind of a lot about that subject. He also talks to Courntey Smith who is a Mum but doesn't have a Mum. A very earnest episode - really in our feelings this week!

This week I talk to my friend Courtney all about being gay. We're both gay.  We're both doing shows at Melbourne International Comedy Festival at the moment too. We have a lot in common!

It's the humiliation episode! Courtney, Lally and Tom tell funny embarrassing stories. I admit I'm still haunted by a weird thing I did to a famous person.

It's vagina week - because Lally has her book out 'my cursed vagina.' Courtney Smith pops by to talk about the biggest vagina-themed fight her and Josh have ever had. Tom has nothing to say.

This week on ‘Josh Thomas and Friends and You’ I ask my divorced mum if she thinks being married to my dad was worth it - on what would have been her 46th wedding anniversary (by accident!). Also my married friend Tom Ward tells me how much of a long term relationship we should be expected to feel actively in love. Fun! PS: We talk about my boyfriend - his name is Josh. It's the same name as me!

The first real episode! This week on ‘Josh Thomas and Friends and You’ I’m talking to Lally Katz and Courtney Smith about death. Lally is anxious about death all the time - she sees it everywhere. We talk to Courtney about saying goodbye to Old Nan. Doesn’t that sound fun? 

The truth is Josh keeps forgetting to plug his mic in properly, everyone’s being very polite about it but it’s a bloody nightmare. So here is another teaser - recorded in Josh’s hotel room at the Adelaide Fringe. Josh and Tom reflect on the old podcast and check in on Tom’s new life. Also we find out if he’s seen Josh’s genitals - as promised.

Many years ago - so long ago that I was straight - I made a podcast with my best friend Tom Ward. It was before we made the TV show Please Like Me. The podcast was gross, overly personal, crass and immature. We ended up deleting it because of all the defamation. Now I'm bringing it back! This is just a little teaser to get us started.
