I spent half of my childhood growing up in Deep Gap with neighbors and friends related (kin) to Doc Watson. I would see him perform yearly at Parkway Elementary school. I would hear stories and think nothing of his fame, popularity or sincere impression on folk music that he imprinted not only in the U.S. but worldwide. Last year I took a class in college called Appalachian Culture that really opened my eyes and made me appreciate all the ordinary things around me and all the rooted history that has shaped this area.. as he said he was just "one of the people" and to outsiders he was something as a national icon or trademark to this region of where I'm from in the Appalachia. This story is about a woman and a man who fell in love and had to hide their love, and in their doings of so they suffered a grim fate.

I was up really late one night, and after drinking a 40oz I was inspired by countless 80s goth and horror bands with a an acoustic sensuality compared to that of the Smashing Pumpkins.

This song reflects the past and story's intertwined in it like an old cobweb torn in two with much web still to wed.This son was inspired by Doc Watson who grew up on Stoney Fork in Deep Gap i grew there for a chunk of my childhood down the rod on Old Orchard Creek Road. When i first started playing the guitar before i ever got into folk rock, like Dylan and all, I just used to sit on the hill in the pasture and gaze at the Mountain playing this guitar that was Done and Gaven to me as a gift, oh my! always gazing and always reminiscing into those beautiful Appalachian Mountains.

This song is very personal like most of my songs are. this song is about me moving with my old man from my hometown in old Caroline,(Boone) over the Blue Ridge to TN. We first moved to Limestone Cove, then to Erwin, and eventually Johnson City, then i moved out of the house because i always strayed off, and i settled down in Siam between Elizabethton, TN and Hampton TN.

Here's the story behind this obscure song. I was living at my girlfriend's dads house with her geeky, nerdy brother at the time. I wrote this about him. He would day in and out stay inside the house and play video games consistently on the computer, eating the same variety of food. This song is about some one who does that for years and how they compensate with it...
