KAOS Radio

Toni Brell (DE/NL) works at the intersection of installation, performance, and sound. Like a set-builder, they create complex landscapes that are meant to be approached from different angles. Drawing inspiration from ASMR and Foley practices, many of the sculptures they create emit sounds through touch and are often linked to gestures, rhythms, and shared rituals. Inviting activation, the audience may become active participants – characters in a narrative that unfolds.At the residency in Albe (Kapellen), Brell is developing a new body of work that engages with the tactile and emotional textures of the sonic environment.

Nada Gambier (FI/BE) often collaborates and engages in dialogue as a form of investment and love for the relational. No longer wanting to categorize her work, she now calls it crash-disciplinary. The crash-disciplinary approach refers to a deliberate disregard for disciplinary boundaries. The process determines the format.Nada has a background in dance and choreography, but she now works within an expanded understanding of performance, where choreography, writing, video, acting, curating, and social engagement continuously meet and collide.She worked in 2025 at Psycho-Social Centre Ixelles.

Griet Teck, afgestudeerd als filmmaker aan het KASK in Gent, werkt op het snijvlak van kunst, film en zorg. Ze is bekend om haar participatieve aanpak en documentair geïnspireerde projecten. Griet was dit voorjaar de eerste artist in residence in samenwerking met UPC KU Leuven en werkte op hun Campus Kortenberg. 

Judith Engelen maakt fysieke en associatieve performances waarin ze snelle technologie combineert met trage literatuur. Ze was in maart en april in residentie bij KAOS. Deze residentie was een samenwerking met workspacebrussels. Ze legde de basis voor haar nieuwe performance ‘I met you once, I loved you twice’.

Jitse Huysmans mag de spits afbijten voor het allereerste KAOS Radio-gesprek.Het onderzoek van Jitse richt zich op het thema ‘spijt’ en het delen van verhalen.Spijt lijkt vaak verbonden met het verleden; het neemt mentale ruimte in en haalt mensen uit het nu. Maar kan het delen van verhalen beweging brengen richting acceptatie? Kan gehoord en gezien worden daarbij helpen? En welke rol speelt ‘tijd’ hierin ? During the second episode of KAOS Radio we talk to Stephan Blumenschein.Stephan is a visual artist based in Amsterdam. In his practice he looks at the histories, ideologies and fantasies surrounding institutional spaces. He does so by thinking through the relations of spaces/rooms within buildings as well as their outside. This residency is a collaboration with Museum Dr. Guislain in Ghent where he has full access to their archive. He also let the surroundings and buildings ‘speak’ by recording their sounds.

Nicolas Delalieux is theatermaker en acteur. Hij houdt van onweersbuien en van dromen op het blauwe uur. Tijdens zijn residentie bij kunsthuis Yellow Art/KAOS zocht hij naar andermans dromen wat o.a. resulteerde in een kamishibai en een optocht.

Béatrice Delcorde used as a starting point for her residency at Kunsthuis Yellow Art/KAOS a documentary made in the 1970s by her uncle, André Van In, about family care in Geel. She conducted a collaborative research project to explore what remains of the benevolent community of that time, aiming to relive and reinterpret the story in today’s context.
