Por mi parte les traigo el granny número 9 de mi colección. Se trata de un granny de flor africana. Este diseño sinceramente me cautivó, porque queda muy hermoso y se pueden hacer proyectos maravillosos con este granny. Hello, hello friends and fellow artisans, it is a pleasure to greet you again. This design honestly captivated me, because it looks very beautiful and you can make wonderful projects with this granny. El patrón es bastante parecido al que se usa para tejer la flor africana en hexágono, pero tiene algunas variantes. La primera de ellas y la más notoria, es que para elaborar el hexágono, la flor contiene 6 pétalos, cada pétalo formará un lado del mismo. En cambio, para hacer el granny, la flor contiene 8 pétalos. La otra variante es que se le agrega una vuelta adicional que es la vuelta número 2. Esta vuelta le añade más tamaño y amplitud al diseño del granny. The pattern is quite similar to the one used to weave the African hexagon flower, but has some variations. The first and most noticeable is that to make the hexagon, the flower contains 6 petals, each petal will form one side of the hexagon. Debo confesarles que no es un patrón tan sencillo como para hacerlo de memoria, tuve que mirar muchas veces el gráfico para asegurarme de que lo estaba haciendo bien, pero sin duda alguna ya se convirtió en uno de mis grannys favoritos y estoy ansiosa por tejer algunos proyectos grandes con este hermoso diseño. Las hay en varios colores aunque las más comunes son las de pétalos blancos y centro amarillo. Cuando estuve viviendo en la ciudad de Lima, tuve la oportunidad de conocer muchas variedades de flores margaritas, fue una experiencia nueva para mí porque no tenía idea de que existieran margaritas de otros colores como el fucsia y el purpura. Siempre he admirado la belleza de las flores, por lo que aprender a tejer grannys con forma de flores es un proceso divertido y apasionante. When I was living in the city of Lima, I had the opportunity to meet many varieties of daisy flowers, it was a new experience for me because I had no idea that there were daisies of other colors such as fuchsia and purple. El hilo que estoy usando para estos granny es el hilo de crochet acrílico de 2mm de grosor, también conocido como macramé colombiano. Este hilo me gusta mucho por su textura, sus lindos colores y el bonito acabado que da a los tejidos. En realidad, elaboré dos grannys de prueba; uno en color turquesa para el fondo y uno con un fondo en color gris plomo. A diferencia del girasol que tiene colores más fuerte, la margarita por ser de pétalos blancos, me pareció que quedaría muy bien con fondos en colores oscuros. The yarn I am using for these grannies is 2mm thick acrylic crochet thread, also known as Colombian macramé. I really like this yarn for its texture, its beautiful colors and the nice finish it gives to the weavings. I actually made two test grannys; one in turquoise for the background and one with a lead gray background. Unlike the sunflower, which has stronger colors, the daisy has white petals, so I thought it would look great with dark background colors. También estuve haciendo diferentes pruebas para el tamaño de los pétalos. El granny de color turquesa lo hice con pétalos más grandes, usando para ello puntos altos triples y para el granny de color gris tejí puntos altos dobles para cada pétalo. Debo decir que ambos modelos me gustaron mucho, el tamaño de la flor dependerá del tipo de proyecto que vaya a realizar con estos grannys. I was also doing different tests for the size of the petals. The turquoise granny I made with larger petals, using triple high stitches and for the gray granny I knitted double high stitches for each petal. I must say that I really liked both models, the size of the flower will depend on the type of project you are going to make with these grannys. Ya antes había tejido un granny girasol, pero esta vez quería que me quedara perfecto. Trabaje con mis nuevos hilos acrílicos de 2mm de grosor, en los colores: marrón, mostaza, amarillo y crema.
