In 2009, Madyson, Sherilynn and Bobby Jamison disappeared.  Their truck was found abandoned with their dog inside, and for four years nobody knew what had happened to parents and their daughter. It turned out there was a lot going on in the Jamisons’ lives prior to their disappearance.  They believed their house was haunted, were struggling with finances, and having altercations. On June 4, 1960, four teenage friends decided to set up a tent and camp by Lake Bodom. On the morning of December 26, 1996, Patsy Ramsey woke up to find a strange note on the stairs leading into her kitchen.  The note stated that her six-year-old daughter, JonBenet Ramsey had been kidnapped the previous night on Christmas. On December 23, 1975, 3 girls decided to go to the mall for some last minute holiday shopping.  17 year-old Rachel Trlica, 14-year old Renee Wilson and 9-year old Julie Moseley traveled together during the day, and were supposed to be home around 4pm.   The three girls are commonly referred to as the Fort Worth trio and each of the girls had reasons for wanting to get home, so when they didn’t return, their families became very concerned. On November 2, 2016, 34-year old Sherri Papini was out for a jog and didn’t return home.  By the time her husband Keith arrived home from work that evening, he was concerned to find that Sherri was no where to be found.  After discovering her phone on the side of the road, Sherri’s family suspected that she had been met with foul play.  Sherri then returned a few weeks later on November 24, 2016 and had quite the story to tell. Abraham Lincoln was elected as the president of the United States for a second term in 1860.  One hundred years later, John F. Kennedy was elected as the president of the United states for his first term in 1960.  Though one hundred years separated the two presidents, many say there were an eerie amount of similarities between the two. Both presidents were assassinated, both had a vice president with the last name Johnson, both were strong supporters of civil rights.   It is thought by some,  that there are too many coincidences to ignore.  Soon after the assassination of JFK, a list started to circulate, comparing the two and pointing out an odd amount of coincidences. In December of 1980, a nurse working the night shift, failed to show up for work.  Melanie Uribe was a dependable, reliable person, so it didn’t make sense that she hadn’t shown up for her job and wasn’t answering any phone calls.  Her friends were concerned and reported her missing. In 1936, a photographer taking photos of Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England caught a photo of something he wasn’t expecting.  The picture showed what looked to be a ghost descending the stairs and was first published in a Country Life article.  The ghost is thought to be a woman named Dorothy Walpole who lived in Raynham Hall in the early 1700s.  Dorothy was said to be having issues with her husband before she mysteriously died and now many think it is her ghost haunting Raynham Hall. On June 20, 2024, 41 year old Taylor Casey failed to show up to a morning class at a yoga retreat she was attending.  Taylor was visiting the Bahamas to complete a month long yoga certification course and was last seen on the night of June 19, 2024.  Taylor’s mother quickly went to the Bahamas to try and find out where her daughter was, and was disappointed in the lack of response to her daughter’s case.  She was already wary about mentioning that Taylor was a transgender woman, because she was worried that this information would cause Taylor’s disappearance to not be taken seriously. On August 4, 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were murdered in their home at 92 Second Street in Fall River, Massachusetts.  The murders became national news, and the suspect was Andrew’s very own daughter, Lizzie Borden. Though Lizzie was found innocent, what really happened to Andrew and Abby is still a mystery. The home where their gruesome murders occured is still standing today, and it is a bed and breakfast that also offers tours.  Since opening the house up to the public, there have been many accounts of ghostly activity inside of the home.  Numerous people have reported strange or unusual experiences.  In a house with such a dark past, the idea that ghosts may be lingering there is not unexpected and it turns out, the murder of Andrew and Abby Borden is not the only unsettling bit of history that has taken place on Second Street. On July 12, 1991, in Salem Massachusetts, Brian Brailsford returned home late at night from work.  He was expecting to find his wife, Martha, but to his surprise she wasn’t there. He tried to locate her and noticed that it seemed she had left earlier in the day with the intention to come back home in the afternoon.  Yet, he spent hours walking around the neighborhood until he was forced to admit that she was missing.  As the search for Martha continued, investigators hit wall after wall and one investigator decided to reach out to Salem’s official witch, Laurie Cabot in hope of getting some answers. Laurie was able to provide some information as to what might have happened to Martha, though how she came to this conclusion was not in an ordinary way.   Laurie said that she had the ability to go into an ‘alpha state’ and was able to access visions that helped to give those searching for Martha clues.  These clues were used to help find Martha and figure out who was responsible for her death. In December of 1900, three lighthouse keepers mysteriously disappeared.  James Ducat, Thomas Marshall and Donald McArthur were supposedly to be at the lighthouse when a relief boat arrived to bring supplies, but they were gone, the island still and empty. On January 14, Marissa Carmichael went out to enjoy a Saturday night with some friends.  The following day, she hadn’t returned home and when her family tried to find out where she was, they discovered that she had called 911 the evening before.  Marissa had been stranded at a gas station and had tried to call for help getting home, but shortly after making this call, she vanished and still remains missing. On September 5, 2017, Abby Lynn Patterson disappeared from Lumberton, NC.  Abby, who was 20 at the time, went missing after getting a ride from a friend.  The details surrounding Abby’s disappearance are vague, but many think that what happened to Abby may be connected to multiple murders in the same town around the same time.
