Your Career Isn't Your Identity: Finding Fulfillment Outside Your 9-5

In today’s episode, we're diving deep into a topic that's been on my mind lately: the oversized role our careers play in defining who we are. Ever noticed how small talk is almost always about what we do for a living? Well, I've been reflecting on this a lot, especially through my travel experiences, where the conversations are so refreshingly different. It's not about your job title; it's about your life outside the office that really sparks interest. So, in this episode, let's chat about why we're so much more than our jobs. I'm hoping this conversation will be a gentle nudge for all of us to remember that our identities are rich and multifaceted, far beyond our careers.Connect with me here:Get my weekly newsletter ---> subscribepage.io/weekly-newsletterCheck out my travel blog ---> champagneflight.comSend me an email ---> [email protected] Follow me on instagram ---> @p.s.juneja

Finding Joy in the Process: The Importance of Celebrating Small Wins

Do we often overlook the small yet significant milestones on our journey towards grand ambitions? That's what we're unpacking on today's episode. Drawing upon my personal experience with Hera Travel, my first entrepreneurial endeavor, I dive into why it's essential to acknowledge and celebrate small victories - those achievements we often bypass in the relentless pursuit of our larger dreams.Through stories from my own start-up journey, I illustrate the potential pitfalls of ignoring these small wins. Neglecting to recognize them can leave us feeling unaccomplished and, in some cases, lead to giving up too soon. But there's more to success than the final outcome. This episode shifts the focus to the value of relishing the journey itself, not just the destination. We talk about the importance of finding joy in the process, embracing each step, no matter how incremental. Achieving goals is about more than just crossing the finish line; it's about striking a balance between fixating on our goals and enjoying the moments that lead us there.Join me as together we explore how celebrating these smaller milestones can boost our motivation and provide a clearer view of the progress we're making towards our ultimate objectives. Embracing Global Customs: Life Lessons from Sweden, Spain, & Georgia

In this episode, I discuss how travel has profoundly shaped my life, sharing three distinct cultural experiences that have resonated with me. First, I reflect on my time in Sweden and the tradition of "Fika". It’s not just about enjoying a coffee and pastry; it represents the act of taking a deliberate pause in the day to unwind and connect with someone. I've since tried to integrate this practice into my routine.Next, I talk about "Sobremesa", a tradition I encountered during my studies in Spain and later in Argentina. It refers to the beautiful practice of lingering at the table after a meal, indulging in deep conversations and truly savoring the moment. Contrasting this with the American custom of promptly paying and leaving, I highlight the beauty of simply being present and enjoying the company you’re with.Lastly, I share the heartwarming Georgian tradition of toasting every time a new drink is poured. During a memorable visit to a local winery in Georgia, I was deeply moved by the heartfelt toasts given by the winemaker, celebrating our futures, hopes, and dreams. This custom has become a cherished part of my life, and I intend to include it in my upcoming wedding. These traditions, among many others, serve as reminders of the transformative power of travel and its ability to enrich our lives with diverse cultural experiences. They reflect the essence of what this podcast is about: building a life that harmoniously blends our professional aspirations with personal adventures. If you resonate with these stories, I'd love to hear from you.
