    Grief is Real.

These past 5 years have been plagued with so much death. People of different ages are taking their final rest. It really took a toll on me. Especially when my GGF and Uncle passed away back-to-back. It was a punch to the gut. I had never experienced grief on this magnitude before. I looked the way I felt. It was a hard time with no time stamp. It was rough. I thank God that I recognized the emotions and the feelings that came with it. I still have my days when I think about those who have passed with the tears flow. I’m glad I have not suppressed and invite those tears. It’s cleansing. Be Intentional With Your Time!

Be Intentional With your time. Observing my parents as they walked towards me one afternoon, I recognized that my parents are no longer as spry and vibrant as they once were. The reality is that my mother and father are well on their years. I have come to the realization that time with my parents must be intentional. Time is priceless. It is what we cannot get back. How we truly spend our time is an important form of Selfcare. Being intentional with the time we spend with our loved ones as well as ourselves. I’m almost in my mid 50’s. I have more years behind me than I have ahead of me. What does it mean to be intentional with our time? Let’s discuss. Email me: [email protected] Pearl Spa https://www.thepearlspa.com

Take Your Time Completing Your Goals. Do It On Your Own Terms.

We tend to play the game of “Beat The Clock”. We find ourselves facing anxiety and frustration because we are in a fictitious “race” with others. Trying to get something done before someone else. Comparing your accomplishments to others. It’s important to take “YOUR” time. Scripture says, “I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭9‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬Doing things on your terms, does not mean you have to rush through the process. You’ll find rushing through the process leads to mistakes and missed steps. I’m taking “my” time as I pursue my Bachelors Degree. It’s taken me a while because I started and stopped. I’m on a mission to be done in 2 years. I’ve been asked a number of times how many credits do you have left? This question would bring me so much anxiety and aggravation. I’m getting it done on my terms. It’s okay to take your time. Enjoy the journey, not the destination. How Many Masks Are You Wearing?

Wearing a mask is a safety net for so many of us. It is easy for us to show up as someone else versus who we truly are. Wearing the mask has become a crutch because it's easier to lean on rather than to lean into our authentic selves. As we continue to excavate, we are digging deeper to the core of discovering our authentic selves so that we can operate in a place of peace and pure joy.Resources:- Journey to the Heart by Melody Beattie

What Do You See When You Look In The Mirror?

Today, I challenge you to look at yourself in the mirror. I know for some, this may be a tough exercise, yet it is necessary in discovering your authentic self.Recognizing what you see is pivotal on this journey. Don't cheat yourself, be honest about what you see. We continue to dig deeper in excavating as we find the treasure that is our authentic self.Resource:- Journey To The Heart by Melody BeattieEmail: [email protected]

    You Owe Yourself An Apology

How relieved do you feel, when someone has done you wrong and they eventually apologize for their offense against you? How great a feeling if you would apologize to yourself. We often walk around blaming ourselves for the things that have happened to us. Child hood trauma, any form of Abuse, divorce, self inflicted hate or scared to step outside of the norm and just go for it. I found myself apologizing to my adolescent self for what I was going to experience. I saw the bright light in the eyes of a younger me while looking at a photo. It’s truly amazing how that bright light in those eyes flicker or is snuffed out as we get older. You owe yourself an apology. It’s not too late to do that. It’s not too late to apologize to those who were indirectly affected by the trauma you experienced. It’s time to break free and continue to escalate and peeling the layers to discovering your authentic self. Normalize Being Your Authentic Self! It's Okay to Just Be You!

Filters on your selfies are temporary layers, that cover who you truly are. People tend to show in spaces in fear of being their authentic self. Instead of the perfect selfie, show up as your perfect self. Whatever that may look like. Don’t be afraid to be who you really are. Wear what you want to wear. Say what’s on your heart. Set those boundaries. Speak your truth. Stand on who you are. Take the time to love on you more. Awaken the person who deserves all the joy and peace to have a full-filled life. Allow yourself to laugh more, smile more even cry more. The world wants to meet the real you. Be your authentic self. You can be who you were created to be. It’s okay. Don’t be afraid. Remove the filter. Show up in spaces as your Authentic Self. When you do, say, “Say nice to meet you.”Resources:Journey To the Heart by Melody BeattieEmail me: [email protected]

Stop Waiting For Permission To Be Happy

Stop waiting for permission to be happy. Do what you want to do. Happiness and joy is one of many life goals that you need to attain as you mature. When you reach this goal, peace follows, safety, contentment, grace come. Standing on business and truly adopting the zero F’s given. Why do people wait on others to give them permission to be happy? Thats giving too much power to someone. You deserve so much more in this life where your Selfcare is crucial. In discovering my authentic self, I found that my happiness and doing what I wanted to do truly brought me so much joy. It opened my mind to exploring and stepping into places and spaces that I’ve always wanted to venture to. New sites, sounds, smells and taste. Saying yes to this happiness birthed Danna “Lifted”. Where are your happiness journey?Have you not allowed yourself to be happy? Are you doing what you want to do without asking permission?Have you given yourself the space to say, I’m gonna do what I want to do without feeling guilty?
