Make Money WHile You Sleep with Lucy Griffiths

Here's the 13th episode of my brand new show. Live and Linking This week I spoke with the incredible Lucy Griffiths, even though she wasn't feeling her usual peppy self. Despite that, she shared some truly insightful gems about transforming her hectic life into one that's more balanced and fulfilling through passive income strategies. We spoke about how Lucy moved away from the grind of a demanding journalism career to embrace a lifestyle that prioritises flexibility and family time. She discussed her book, "Make Money While You Sleep," which focuses on leveraging digital products, courses, and memberships to craft a life that isn't tethered to the traditional 9-to-5. I have just finished this book and for anyone looking to escape the corporate treadmill and design a life that aligns more with personal goals and family, Lucy’s approach to passive income is a gold mine of advice.   We also spoke about branding & authenticity especially Lucy's vibrant personal branding strategy, dominated by her love for pinks and reds, which makes her stand out while also being true to her personality.  More importantly, Lucy emphasised the power of authenticity. She shared how showing the real, less-than-perfect behind-the-scenes aspects of her life helps connect more deeply with her audience. It's not all about being polished—sometimes, it's about being real and letting people see the chaos behind the curtain! I am just like Lucy and so very busy so I quizzed her about outsourcing and how she has made her operations smooth and manageable.  Lucy uses VA’s and smart delegation—hiring help not just to ease her workload but to enhance her business’s efficiency and output. Lucy's story is a fantastic reminder that with the right strategies and mindset, balancing a fulfilling career and personal life is entirely possible. Her insights into passive income, personal branding, and effective outsourcing are invaluable for anyone looking to make a significant change in how they work and live.    Lucy Griffiths Contact and Profile Information Email: [email protected] Website: Lucy Griffiths LinkedIn: Lucy Griffiths Instagram: lucygriffithsdotcom Bio: Lucy helps you to monetize your passions and automate your business through digital courses and memberships. After a traumatic birth experience, Lucy was unable to return to frontline journalism in conflict zones and reshaped her career path. Here are the key takeaways and insights from this insightful conversation: 1. The Power of LinkedIn for Diverse Professionals LinkedIn is not just for B2B; it's a platform where B2C professionals, like artists, have found immense success by reaching the right audience, leading to significant business growth and opportunities. 2. LinkedIn Premium vs. Free Accounts The consensus among the experts is that learning to effectively use the free version of LinkedIn is crucial before considering an upgrade to Premium. With the evolving platform dynamics, there's a subtle push towards Premium, but the foundational strategies remain pivotal. 3. Content Creation and Engagement Short-form content is great for immediate visibility and engagement, while long-form content, like articles, offers long-term authority and discoverability. Sharing valuable, relevant content is key to building a following and fostering engagement. 4. Personal Branding and Building Connections LinkedIn excels as a platform for building personal brands and making real human connections. Whether it's turning on creator mode or deciding between follow and connect options, the strategic aim is to enhance visibility and foster genuine relationships. 5. The Uplift Live Conference: A Not-to-Miss Event for LinkedIn Enthusiasts Uplift Live is designed as a comprehensive learning experience for LinkedIn users, featuring workshops and sessions aimed at best practices and advanced strategies. With nearly 200 attendees expected, it promises networking opportunities and insights from almost eight speakers in the LinkedIn space. 6. Launching a Podcast Episode One of Four with Gary Jones

Here's the first episode of a short series of just 4 podcasts where I am speaking with Gary Jones from Grow Radio, a podcast professional.   I’m launching a new podcast and Gary will be helping me over the next four weeks and you can listen in and find out how easy it really is to start a podcast.    Over the next four weeks we'll be helping you to get started too.   Join us live on YouTube each Tuesday at 12:30pm GMT to get involved and ask your specific questions. In this week's episode we discussed launching podcasts. Reasons for starting a podcast include meeting new people, practicing public speaking, and having fun. For businesses, a podcast sets you apart, allows non-sales communication with clients, and provides valuable content for the community. I expressed initial hesitation about podcasting complexity but plan to debunk myths. The conversation explores the benefits of having a podcast for personal growth, business, and community engagement.   We discuss the option of going live versus recording video or audio-only podcasts. The importance of choosing a format that suits the individual is emphasized.    We also talk about equipment, highlighting the initial use of basic tools and the significance of content over equipment quality. I share the inspiration behind my podcast, focusing on getting to know people and their stories. I emphasize the value of podcasts for learning, citing personal experiences in marketing. The discussion also addresses the flexibility of podcast recording, emphasizing the potential for anyone to start with minimal equipment. We discuss podcast frequency and the benefits of batch recording, suggesting a limit of three to four episodes in a single recording session. Consistency is crucial, and Gary shares his experience of exhaustion after attempting six consecutive recordings. We also explore podcast titles, emphasizing the importance of short, snappy, and searchable names related to the content. I even had some suggestions!   Gary explains all about audience identification and content alignment, stressing the importance of creating content that benefits both the audience and the podcast creator. It’s important to align passion with the audience's needs to create valuable content. Another question that came in live asked about preparing guests before the podcast, with Gary recommending informing them about potential questions. We highlight the value of making guests comfortable and ensuring a natural, banter-filled conversation.   In summary, the podcast recording covers various aspects of podcasting, from reasons to start one, equipment considerations, and frequency of episodes to preparing guests and choosing a suitable title. Gary provides strategic advice on the best time to launch and whether to release multiple episodes at once or space them out for consistency How to Connect:  Email: [email protected]  Website: https://growradio.uk LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/gary-jones-b876985a/ Instagram: http://instagram.com/growradiouk About Gary: Gary is passionate about Podcasting and wants everyone to feel like they can have one regardless of budget or technical skills!
