Come Enjoy Fall for All at Howard Community College
Howard Community College is thrilled to host our inaugural Fall for All event on October 20, 2023! This family-friendly, free event falls on a day when HCPSS schools are closed so it's the perfect time to explore our campus and enjoy fall festivities. We'll have pumpkin-themed activities and a pumpkin patch, face painting, moon bounce, candy, a corn maze, and more! Our sustainability group will feature local exhibits and the first 100 visitors can decorate a pot and fill it with a free native plant!

Learning About the New Child Care Professional Apprenticeship!
According to research conducted by the Grant View Research firm, the national child care industry was valued at 60.4 billion dollars in 2022, and experts predict that it will continue to grow overtime as more families return to in person work, families who continue to work from home rely on child care in order to be effective remote employees, and the number of single parent households continues to increase around the country. Howard Community College recognizes the need for reliable and dependable child care that exists and is excited to bring an opportunity for those interested in pursuing this career pathway through our new child care professional apprenticeship, an 18-month program for folks who are passionate about working with children. An apprenticeship is defined as “an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where employers can develop and prepare their future workforce. And individuals can obtain paid work experience, classroom experience, and a portable, nationally recognized credential.” (www.apprenticeship.gov) Howard Community College fully believes and supports this earn while you learn model, and currently offers a variety of programs ranging from construction management, to HVAC, to biomedical engineering, to IT, to LPN, and more, while also continuing to look for new opportunities we could bring and offer to everyone in our community.
