Just when you thought Cádiz had pulled themselves virtually safe, they manage to revert to type and throw away 2 points. All Antoñito's good work undone by some of the worst defending and decision making we've seen this season (and that is quite an achievement). Cádiz finally show some fight under Imanol Idiakez, the new manager, but once again it leads to nothing. With only 5 games to go, the surprise is that we are not already in the relegation zone. We do manage to find some small positives in the 2-1 loss to a very good Las Palmas side but is it too little too late? Its Groundhog day again as Cadiz lose, again. This week's pod is more of a therapy session as we try and come to terms with an increasingly likely relegation. We're running out ways to describe the continuos losses but here we are again. A seventh consecutive home defeat, Cádiz's worst ever season, but maybe, just maybe we finally saw something positive, something that might just keep us out of the relegation battle. That something is a 37 year old Lucas Pérez. Who hasn't played for over a year but did more in a 35 minute cameo than quite a few of the squad have done all season. Matt is back but it doesn't mean a change in luck for Cádiz as they fall to a sixth consecutive home loss against Córdoba. Is this team capable of survival or are we doomed to our Primera RFEF fate? A really poor loss in Africa against Ceuta is followed by an even more disappointing loss in Valladolid. Where do we go from here? Well Primera RFEF looks like the most likely destination for this team which has shown, once again that it is not good enough. One step forward, two steps backwards as Cádiz put on one of their worst performances of the season against high flying Málaga. The same old defensive mistakes and total lack of any attacking threat were back with a vengeance as if the change of manager hadn't happened. Sergio González is back in the dugout and he brings us a first win since early January. Two early goals from rejuvenated looking Brian Ocampo and Yussi Diarra were enough for Cádiz to hold off Mirandés. We made hard work of it in the second half but the defence held strong, boosted by a return to action of the Serbian Wall, Bojan Kovacevic. Another awful game, losing at home to the bottom club Zaragoza meant the end of Gaizka Garitano's time in charge of Cádiz. We try and avoid talking about the game and concentrate on the change and what it will mean to the team. Sergio González comes in for his 2nd spell in charge and has a lot of work to turn the dressing room around and avoid slipping further into trouble. An absolute disaster-class in the Basque country as Cádiz lose 3-1 to Eibar and continue their awful run. An another abject Cádiz performance, going down 2-0 to the youngest side in the league was the catalyst for all the pent up frustration to finally explode. This felt like the complete rupture of any sort of connection between the fans and the manager, his days are now surely numbered despite many of the problems not really being his fault. Cádiz came away from El Plantío with a valuable point in a game where they deserved absolutely nothing. Sometimes you just need something to go your way and this could be a turning point. We talk about Dawda's goal and that was about it in terms of positives for Cádiz! When it rains it pours. A postponed game finally got underway a day later but Cádiz couldn't break the losing habit. Despite creating a lot of chances we struggled to find the back of net and Almería were clinical when they had to be to take all 3 points back across Andalucía. A very disappointing loss in Huesca has opened up some old and some new wounds in this Cádiz team and it wasn't just on the pitch where the headlines were being made this week. We cover all the goings on from the arrival of Sergio Arribas on Thursday, Gaizka Garitano's very strong words in the pre-match press conference and onto the actual game on Sunday night. A fantastic win on the road in Zaragoza moves us back to within a point of the playoff places and feeling positive again as another Moussa Diakite long range strike put the cherry on the cake. There is light at the end of the tunnel! Cádiz put their bad run to an end with 3 points against Córdoba. Mark got the opportunity to sit down with Ben Harburg, one of the owners of Cádiz C.F and now the new owner of Al Kholood football club in Saudi Arabia. We spoke about how he got involved with Cádiz, how the club has changed since he came in and his take on everything going on at the club currently. We also delved into what taking over at Al Kholood has been like and what might be applicable to Cádiz from this new adventure is Saudi Arabia.
