How high-tech trucks are reducing risk for road crews in Pa.
As Pennsylvania heads into construction season, and work zone safety month comes to a close this April, David Gemmill highlights the technology he uses to keep his crews safe. The company specializes in pavement work. Part of that means measuring lines on roads before they are repaved, and then laying down markings for paint crews to follow once the new pavement is down. In the past that meant using rollers, walking for miles a day, and trailing behind the rest of the crew leaving workers vulnerable. To make matters more dangerous, many of the jobs happen at night along busy roadways. That's not the case for Gemmill and his crews.
