    Morning Visitor! 😂

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/f18ee263 I spotted a Cooper’s Hawk on my backyard fence this morning while making breakfast. So I started recording. At first I thought it was tangled in something. Zoomed in and realized… it was having breakfast too. 😳 Just out there eating its prey, completely unbothered. 😂 This scene really made my morning.

    Foraging The Scaly Lentinus Mushrooms.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/d1322915 Happy Friday, folks. This Friday is a special one here because it's Hive's 6 years anniversary. 🎉 I'm excited to be part of Hive as it marks this day. Wishing each and everyone one of us a happy celebration! So in the spirit of the celebration, I'm sharing this video I made while foraging the Scaly Lentinus mushrooms, which I found at my sister's front yard during my visit some time last year. Like I mentioned in a previous post, Scaly Lentinus is actually edible, tasty and nutritious, and can be prepared in so many ways, depending on your taste bud. I hope you'll like it as much as I enjoyed making it. Have a fabulous weekend ahead. This is my contribution to FungiFriday by @ewkaw

    Filming The Flower Crab Spider!

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/55dff380 It's been a while I posted a video so I thought of sharing this interesting video of a cute Flower Crab Spider I made some days ago. I actually found it on the waterleaf plant in my garden. It's so small that I didn't notice it at first, until it started crawling. I hope you'll enjoy watching the video as much as I did making it. 😅 Still the #threadsaddict 😂

    Ain't Bees Thirsty?

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/8ba89ac3 People do crazy things somethings, right? I presume you've done a couple of crazy stuffs. Lol. Well, I did something crazy in the village during the holidays - filmed a swarm of bees! So I saw the bees swarming the water tap at our front yard. Turns out they were there to drink water. Boy, was I surprised? You bet! Didn't know bees drank water too, lol! Apparently, there was a hive nearby, a good reason for their visit at the tap. They'd come in the morning and stay till evening, and it was kinda challenging to get water there. Everyone was scared of their attack. Hehehe. The thing is, even after the water stopped, they still stuck around, trying to get some behind the tap where the pipes connect. After watching them from afar, I got a bit brave and made a video and equally took some photos. Third time getting that close to bees, and I was reallyyyyy scared, lol! This post is my participation in the #hive14dayschallenge Author's Photos Still the #threadsaddict 😂

    Picking Bush Cherries. 🍒

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/wbryzwzp I love fruits and can't go a day without eating at least a fruit. You can say I'm practicing this popular say "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." Lol. And you know what, I love them fruits - fresh from the garden. You can't beat the taste of fruits gotten fresh from the garden. In fact, they're outta this world. 😋 So as a "fruitie", lol, I'm always on the lookout for fruits to pick from my sister's garden whenever I go visiting. Her garden is filled with varieties of fruits, from pawpaw, orange to local pear, walnut avocado, bush cherry, banana, cocoa, just name it. In fact it should be called a fruit garden. So on one of the days I visited, I went in search for fruits as usual. Luckily, I spotted some ripe bush cherries called "uvune" in my dialect. I dived in and started picking them and was even eating on the go. Hehehe. No time to check time. Lol. I had to save some which I paired with pawpaw. Weird combo, right? Well, that's what my taste bud craved for. The combo was super tasty and I enjoyed every munch of it. Lol. Have you eaten bush cherries before? I'd love to read from you... Author's Photos

Filming The End Band Net Winged Insect.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/nhxwmrlc Happy Thursday! How do you do? It's been a while since I shared a video and I'm excited to share this one with you. It's about a fascinating insect - End Band Net-wing, I saw while taking a walk around my parent's home surrounding. This insect, End Band Net-wing, also called "Calopteron terminale", is a specie of net-winged beetle in the Lycidae family. It's mostly found in forests and woods, and feeds on insects, plant juices and slime molds. At some point of making this video, my device camera became blurred and I had to turn almost 360° to great clearer view. Lol. The striking yellow and black color pattern of the insect is captivating, a testament to nature's beauty. It was a delight to see and film this fascinating insect and I hope you'll enjoy watching it as much as I did making it. 😅

    Evening Chatter In My Neighborhood.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/cprxutmu Warm greetings friends. I'm glad to have you visit my blog. Hope you're doing well. Don't forget to always prioritize self-care. Your wellness is important to me. 🥰 Some months ago, I shared a video post about how I've been witnessing a flock of birds visiting my neighborhood in. Aba, Abia State, especially black-headed weavers. You may want to watch it here. After then, I didn't see them around again. I'm guessing they migrated to another region. But it seems like they're back because for the past few days now, I've been noticing their presence around my neighborhood in the early evenings between 5:000 - 6:00pm WAT. They often arrive in their hundreds, filling the air with their joyful noise. LOL. Their rendezvous spot is a farmland that's been lying fallow for about two years now. I'm guessing the recent weather fluctuation in my city, with rapid temperature changes, might have attracted them to our area or maybe the lush vegetation in the fallow farm. Whatever the reason, it was a delight to watch them this evening, chattering and hovering over the green vegetation, which ultimately brought life and energy to my neighborhood. I made a video of them to share with you, and I hope you'll enjoy watching it as I did recording it. 🥰 Thank you.

Throwback To The Aba International Trade Fair That I Attended .

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/nbvrbbsi Pleasant greetings, welcome to my blog. It's Throwback Thursday, #TBT and I hope you're reliving those good old memories. I also hope that all is well with you and yours. Today, I'd love to share a memory from the Aba International Trade Fair that I attended sometime last year. The fare was held at Aba Mega Mall, Osisioma, here in my city, Aba, Abia State. The fair which lasted for 10 days - November 28th to December 7th, 2024, was organized by the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, (ACCIMA), an organization that promotes trade, commerce, and industry in my city. The trade fair saw different companies and brands in attendance, both large and medium scale from within and outside the state. From automobiles companies, footwear, solar energy tech companies to food and beverage companies, including mattress manufacturers, beauty care products, agro farms, clothing and textiles, thrift vendors, etc. The various local governments making up the state were not left. They showcased different food crops and their local delicacies. Ah, not forgetting my own organization, Magic 102.9FM radio. As the media partner of the event, we provided the platform for the fair to be broadcasted live on radio including offering business hypes. The trade fair was a great opportunity for me to pitch my radio station and connect with potential clients. The standout at the fair was this energetic "ọkpa" () vendor's sales pitch. It was topnotch. Watch her in the video clip I made. More captivating photos A makeshift garden, what an innovative display. Silhouettes were also in attendance, lol. . Despite some expectations, the turnout wasn't massive, but the trade fair was a grand success. There were exciting deals and sales - some companies like Oris group, Topisto tomato mix, even sold out. It was crazy. Shoppers came in their numbers and closed the sales. I wasn't left out as I got great deals myself, including a comfy slippers that I'm still rocking. I also won a beautiful water bottle and pen from a raffle draw. Some others won IPad, power banks, customized tote bags, jotters and more. I'm looking forward to attending more fairs in the future. Thanks for coming around. Author's Photos

    Bottle Cap Soccer Creativity.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/wlnhzqev During a visit to an inlaw's home few months ago, I met the kids in their own world, playing a game of soccer using bottle caps as players on a makeshift pitch. It was interesting to watch how they created their own game using bottle caps. In fact, it was the enthusiasm, passion and dedication with which they played the game that spurred me to record them playing. As I watched these young talents showcase their skills, it reminded me that every football star started somewhere. Who knows, the next big star might be among them. I hope you'll enjoy watching the video as much as I enjoyed recording it. 😅

    Witnessing Pollination.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/sjoxtucd Whenever I get the opportunity to watch butterflies engage in cross pollination, I don't let it slip by. So yesterday, while walking through our church premises after Mass, I caught sight of these delicate creatures working tirelessly. Lol. The beautiful flowers in my church's premises were in full bloom, thereby attracting a flurry of butterflies. They were busy flitting from petal to petal, collecting nectar and facilitating cross-pollination. Seeing this natural spectacle, I couldn't resist capturing it on video. I'm sure you'll do same if you saw them, because it was mesmerizing sight, pure bliss. I must confess that it was interesting to watch these flurry creatures carry out their duties with precision and intentionality. I was fascinated by how they dipped their proboscis right into the flowers, gathering sweetness and transferring pollen. And you know the funny thing, the sun was in full glow but I felt non of it's effect, hehehe. In fact, I even drew curious glances and side comments from some church members, but I didn't let that distract me. I can bet some even wondered if I've gone nuts, lol. The goal was to enjoy capturing the moment and I'm glad I did. I hope you'll enjoy watching the video as much as I enjoyed filming it. Have a pleasant week. Author's Photos

    Creative Hands!

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/ompjxovx A visit to a close friend's place some days ago turned into an unexpected delight when I stumbled upon a talented hairstylist at work. She was making a beautiful twist braid hairstyle for a young woman and I was taken by her skill and attention to detail. Her masterful touch and exacting skill resulted in a gorgeous, fitting look for the young woman. I couldn't help but admire her craftsmanship - she really has deft fingers. And oh!, the young woman had the sweetest of smiles. 😅 There was no hiding her happiness in the stylist's handiwork. You could see joy radiating from her face, and the warm smile she gave me confirmed it. I think more of the happiness was because the following day was a special day for her - her matriculation into college. You know how exciting that could be. I couldn't keep myself from capturing the behind the scene - rather making of the hair on camera, and I'm excited to share them with you. I hope you'll enjoy watching it as I did making it. 😅

    Taking The Hopper To Safety.

https://3speak.tv/watch?v=luchyl/ohcvtdkp It seems like I've not outgrown my childhood fascination for insects. Like how could I, at this age, beam with excitement whenever I stumble upon these tiny wonders - dragon flies, butterflies and grasshoppers. I would have added bees to the list, at least they satisfy our sweet tooth with the honeycombs and honey they produce, but you know how crazy those hot girls can be, sometimes though. They're full of surprises and I wouldn't want to be any where near them. Lol. I know my friend here @beesmartblog will call me chicken again for saying this, but it's cool. I'd rather be one and save myself some stings. Lol. Who wants a bee invasion? Not me either. 😅 What am I even rambling about? I guess I got a bit sidetracked. So moving on, I've come to realize that when any of these insects flit by, my eyes sparkle, and I'm like, 'Where did it go?' I'll look all around, trying to catch another glimpse. Most times, I'll restrain myself from running around, and pursuing them. This is crazy and seriously, I don't understand. 🤦 I think nature should be blamed for this - Yeah. I believe it's my love for nature that's sparked this insect fascination. Or what do you think? Well, let's not dwell on that. Some time last week, I was weeding the yard and this hopper leapt straight into the "line of fire", right on my hoe's blade. Whaaat? Since I was cutting down their safe haven, my actions had inadvertently created a chaotic atmosphere in their safe haven so they were fleeing to safety. But this one hopper, in its quest to find safety, landed right onto the blade, oblivious that it was the instrument of destruction. It's thud made me stop in my tracks immediately. I picked it up and began to play with it, and at the same time thinking of what to do with it. I looked up and spotted this cocoyam plant and I beamed with smiles, happy to have found a perfect place to keep it. As if on cue, the cocoyam leaves began to sway to the breeze's gentle rhythm, and I could hear their whispers; "Right over here, she'll be safe with us" Assured of the hopper's safety, I went over and gently placed her on the cocoyam's leaves, even when it didn't want to let go of my finger. Feeling like a hero who had done her duty - preserving nature, I headed back to complete my weeding. 😅 Please watch the video to see all. Thank you. Author's Photos
