    Exploring Hakodate, Japan 🇯🇵 | Seafood Market, Tram Ride & Local Eats!

    We’ve made it to our very first port in Japan — beautiful Hakodate on the island of Hokkaido! 🇯🇵 Despite a bit of rain, we jumped right into the adventure with a stroll through the famous Hakodate Morning Market, where we were blown away by the incredible displays of fresh seafood, crab legs, and even live squid. 🦀🐙After exploring the market and grabbing a few snacks (yes, Pocky and almond cookies included), we hopped on the Hakodate tram using our IC card and headed toward the Mt. Hakodate Ropeway — only to find it closed due to weather. But not to worry! We stumbled into a community radio station, discovered some very interesting insect vending machines, and finished the day with a stop at the popular Lucky Pierrot for one of the best chicken sandwiches in Japan 🍔.This episode captures the charm, hospitality, and surprises of Hakodate — from clean streets and friendly locals to tech-savvy taxis and delicious food.     One Day in Sendai: Pizza, Loop Bus & City of Trees

    Our Japan adventure continues in Sendai, known as the City of Trees! 🌳 With only a few short hours to explore, we hopped on the Loople sightseeing bus for a whirlwind tour of the city’s highlights. From crowded streets and packed buses to peaceful neighborhoods, Sendai gave us a glimpse of both its history and modern charm.Before sightseeing, we treated ourselves to our first pizza in four months 🍕 — a delicious stop at Dumbo Pizza in Sendai Station. No sushi, no ramen this time… just honey & fromage pizza for Lynn and pineapple margarita for Paul!Although time was short and the crowds were heavy, we still enjoyed Sendai’s beauty and hospitality.     Hachinohe Japan: Anniversary at Sea & Local Festival Send-Off

    In this episode of Lynn and Paul’s Excellent Adventure, we share a more personal side of our world cruise aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey. Our second stop in Japan brought us to Hachinohe, where unexpected challenges and unforgettable moments shaped our day.Paul faced a flare-up of gout, reminding us that life at sea comes with both adventures and realities. But even though we couldn’t explore the town, the town came to us!
