This weekend I finally found a few hours to record my cover of @M57 's beautiful track 'End of the skyline' for the cover challenge 2018. I'm very shy of my vocal work, so I decided to record it acapella ;-). Feel free to be brutal with me. Kill me. Or let me know what worked ;-) For me this is a 'study'. Of course I checked in the background with a few of our fellows 'ears' I trust, and already got some nice pointers to help me how to improve. I hope I'll have a few hours this week to implement the changes I agree with. But for now, first please a big round of applause to @M57 for creating this beautiful song! Hi all, Wrote this song as an entry for the 'inspirational input' competition running at the 'kitchen' https://soundcloud.com/songwriter-in-the-kitchen The track's about 'Orion' who died fighting a scorpion and inspired by Metallica's instrumental 'Orion'. My creation starts like an acoustic ballad, then transforms into rock and ends with a wink to the sound of Metallica to link the song musically to Orion as well. In the 'bridge' the organs represent the constellation Orion, the guitar riffs represents the subject and the bass is the scorpion. Yes, the changes in the 2nd half of the song may be way out-of-the-box, but I like how they carry the message in this song. What did you feel/think when listening to this track? At this great festival I saw two lovers (they were old and grey) lying in the grass and enjoying Jonathan Jeremiah (which I was enjoying too).. Their 'living their dreams' at this age was really touching to me, so I decided to use my impressions observing those two to write and compose 'Dreams'.
