    Durante la tavola rotonda del Workshop “From Climate Change to Emerging Diseases: Next Generation Mathematical Approaches”, svoltosi a Pavia dall’11 al 13 febbraio 2026, matematici e medici si sono confrontati sull’impatto dei cambiamenti climatici sullo sviluppo e sulla diffusione di nuove epidemie. A partire da questo tema, la discussione si è ampliata al ruolo sempre più centrale della matematica e dei modelli matematici nel supportare la ricerca medica e la pratica clinica per la comprensione dei fenomeni epidemiologici e lo sviluppo di strategie di prevenzione e intervento.Alla tavola rotonda hanno partecipato: Giuseppe Floridia, professore di analisi matematica alla Sapienza di Roma e direttore del gruppo UMI-CLIMATH; Anna Odone, professoressa di igiene generale e applicata all’Università di Pavia; Antonio Piralla, microbiologo e virologo presso il Policlinico San Matteo di Pavia; Mattia Zanella, professore di fisica matematica all’Università di Pavia e direttore del gruppo UMI-MSE.La tavola rotonda è stata moderata da Marco Menale, ricercatore in fisica matematica all’Università Federico II di Napoli.Montaggio: Ge.s.i.
