A sunny Sunday afternoon at NAR. Played an opening set for the first edition of PLAYGROUND, tryna build a sunny and laid back vibe. Sady not all of the set survived due to them good old technical difficulties. Had to piece up the fragments of the recording that survived, so that's why there's some fade cuts at 33:00 and 48:00. Me and Eben provide you with some Ghanaian songs and words related to those, recorded on the digital airwaves of Stranded FM. 100% Ghanaian music, from local artists and diaspora. All recorded while eating Jollof Rice. The idea was born out of a very big catalog of underrated Ghanaian songs that I collected during my time there, with the help of Shatta Junia Promo. I linked up with Eben Badu, DJ and one of the founders of The New Originals, who I met in Ghana and who is working on a project with young Ghanaian creatives. Enjoy listening <3

I’ve been ranting a lot lately, so imma do it about this set too. I love it. It’s schizofrenic in a way. It’s sounds like an far-future-DJ-AI mixed my Spotify wrapped for late 2023. So much of the songs that carried me trough good and bad times, mixed together in a way that actually entertained and engaged a club audience but is eclectic as fuck. Like, who plays Bloody civilian, CJ Bolland, Pangeaa , Piri and Bakar in one set and manages to make it kinda make sense? I guess I did. For me at least. If you decide to listen, don’t let one song turn you off. Fast forward 10 min and you’re in a completely different vibe. But once you’re feeling it, please stay along for the ride and let me show you some shit you’ve probably never heard before. And for the die-hard @raga fans out there. That 20 min b2b mix is in the link too. Its so fun. I guess it was the high energy playful closing note that everybody had been waiting for and I’m deeply deeply impressed by how @raga delivered it to the audience and happy I was able to keep up with him. And for the attentive listener. There was a mic present. I used it. It was kinda stupid and really fun and imma do it again but next time imma tap the “record set without mic” option so don’t take it for granted.
