Episode 7: Global Surgery: Cleft lip & Palate Repair with Dr. Yvonne Ying
On this episode of Med Made Real, we had the pleasure of talking to Dr. Ying, a pediatric plastic surgeon who has contributed extensively to global surgery through her impactful work with Operation Smile, a non-profit medical service providing cleft lip and palate repair surgeries/resources to children worldwide. Her academic background includes a Master of Science in Engineering with a focus on biomaterials from Johns Hopkins University, a Master's in Global Surgery from Kings College London, and a medical doctorate from the University of Calgary. In today's podcast, Dr. Ying will discuss pediatric plastic surgery with a focus on Operation Smile and the significant impact and importance of global surgery.

Episode 5: Dizziness: A Neuro-Otologist’s Perspective with Dr. Darren Tse
On this episode of Med Made Real, we had the pleasure of talking to Dr. Tse, a neuro-otologist at The Ottawa Hospital and The University of Ottawa. He specializes in dizziness and vestibular disorders and founded the Ottawa Vestibular Program, an educational curriculum, and a growing research program into chronic dizziness and vestibular migraines. Episode 2: Women in Orthopedic Surgery with Dr. Laurie Hiemstra
On our second episode of Med Made Real, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Hiemstra. Dr. Hiemstra is a Fellowship trained sports medicine orthopedic surgeon working in Banff, Canada. She is a professor at the University of Calgary and is on the Board of Directors for multiple national and international orthopedic foundations. She just finished her presidency at the Canadian Orthopedic Association being the first female president of this organization.
