Meeting mySelf

Meeting mySelf An interesting question arose with starting this Podcast: “Do you want your podcast to feel like someone is meeting you - or learning about you?” To which my response was: “Actually - I would like to come from the starting point of me meeting myself and learning about myself.”  Then I was asked: “Okay, what part of yourself are you actually meeting?” To which I responded: “I am meeting all of me – with open arms.”   This Podcast is a platform within which I share me: everything that I am, have been and is to come. I hold all of me – past, present and future - unconditionally within myself and in my everyday life journey and experiences.  I am here to share how I observe my mind, how I introspect and reflect on points I face within myself, how I work through past trauma and grief when and as it comes up within me in the multitude of layers trauma can manifest in the body. How I assist and support myself to redefine and live words (a process w

From "meltdown" to Self and Body Awareness

Meeting MySelf in Parenting - Episode 3Last year, I had a few experiences with my daughter after she had been playing over an extended period of time (mostly reaching 2 hours) - either in the pool or when we'd play in a obstacle course. Aftewards - for up to an hour, she wouldn't completely be herself, becoming (as per my experience/interpretation at the time) "moody"/challenging. At first, I first checked in with myself - made sure I wasn't emotionally reacting to her experience/change; and then after it happened about the 4th time (knowing I was clear, sound and stable and no matter how I approached her or tried to support her - nothing changed) I investigated, did some research and had discussions, through which I came to realise and understand Areah's experience so much better, that it wasn't "personal" towards herself or me - but it had all to do with her body/nervous system's experience during and after play for an extended period of time.I am grateful for this experience, because it inspired how I am also checking in with my physical experience during the day and also supporting her of becoming more aware of not only her relationship with her emotions, but also her body and its experience with her.Thank you xx

Annoyance and Frustration - but Why?

What if she thinks I don't love her - Part 2Meeting mySelf in Parenting - Episode 2Here I continue sharing how and why I went deeper inside myself to look at the point of WHY I went into a reaction of annoyance and frustration with Areah’s bedtime routine. Asking myself where did the reactions come from, why I was experiencing them within the starting point of: "What was my mind, being and body trying to show or tell me through brining up annoyance and frustration during Areah’s bedtime routine?"It's a cool point I walked through inside myself and a simple, beautiful self realisation and understanding of me and my relationship and process with supporting Areah’s growth, development and maturing of herself and her individuality.Thank you, me

What if she thinks I don't love her?

Meeting mySelf in Parenting - Episode 1 Here I share a moment where I caught a thought and reaction moving ever so swiftly inside myself. So fast and simulatenously so 'small' I almost didn't see it to reflect on it within myself.I'm grateful for the depth of my mind, self and body relationship awareness that has progressed these past 7 months, which enabled me to question this thought and reaction, because it didn't resonate or 'sit right' within me.Being able to reflect and self honestly look at the thought and reaction, brought through a beautiful realisation and understanding of a dimension of practical love in action: creating a supportive environment for my daughter Areah to grow, learn and thrive within herself.Thank you, me
