In last week's episode, Rachel was excited because it was next to the last day of school before summer vacation. She was anxious to turn in her books and surprised to find that teachers and cafeteria workers alike, were just as happy as students to welcome summer's arrival.

Last week, while caught in a rainstorm with her dad, Rachel learned an important lesson about rainbows. "They remind us of God's promises," her father told her. Amazed by its beauty, Rachel decided she would forever look for a rainbow after a rainstorm.

Last week, in Chapter 1, Rachel had great news for The Double Dutch Club. With Summer just around the corner, she had passed her end of the year math test and was looking forward to jumping Double Dutch with her friends. Surprisingly, she was confused when they didn't see happy about her good news.

Last week, in part 1 of Chapter 11, Leon had dressed his best and was anxious to get to school. On this morning, Nana and Pop knew something was different about their youngest grandson. And while unusually quiet on the way to school, Leon hoped others would see the change in him that he believed had taken place.

In Chapter 10, Autumn returns to Mrs. Kelso's classroom, but Leon was not happy when her seat is changed. This was not what he had expected after having completed all of his assignments and turning them in. Doing this, he figured his teacher and his classmates would see how serious he was about doing better in school. However, he felt encouraged when Keith Porter supported him in his attempt to make things right with Autumn Tanner.

In our last episode, Leon had to face Autumn and her parents. Pop and Nana had insisted he apologize for embarrassing Autumn in class. Leon was surprised at the kindness he received from the Tanner family and realized how much he wanted Autumn to be his friend.

In Chapter 8, Leon learned that Autumn has Achromatopsia; she was colorblind. Now he felt bad about the joke he made in class. Principal Todd instructed Leon to stay away from Autumn. Leon wondered how he was going to give Autumn the apology he knew she deserved.

Last week, we learned that once Mrs. Kelso sent Leon to Principal Todd's office, he knew he was in big trouble. Feeling bad about what he'd done to embarrass Autumn, Leon accepted whatever punishment was waiting for him. He knew he deserved it.

In our last episode, Leon learned an important lesson - sometimes words can hurt. When he thought he had finally found a way to get rid of Autumn by telling one of his jokes, Leon quickly realized what resulted was so much more that he had intended.

Last week, Leon decided to let Mrs. Kelso know he was ready to take hi studies seriously. Unfortunately, his news was interrupted by the arrival of a new student named Autumn. Though he decided to show his intelligence by doing an exceptional job on a math assignment. That idea also failed when a classmate accused him of cheating. Leon knew his attempt to change his ways had failed, but he also knew he would have to keep trying.

In Chapter 4, Derrick told Leon he was a cheater because he didn't want anyone to know how smart he was. This was the moment Leon remembered how Pop had talked about him going to college and how Mrs. Kelso had been so impressed with his poem. Leon decided it was time to come clean.

This week, we will have an encore presentation of Leon's Share which is Book 1 in The Young Conquerors Series.

In Chapter 3, Leon wondered if he would ever do something good enough to have Nana bake a Sweet Potato pie just for him. He looked up to his big brother Derrick but wasn't sure he could ever live up to his brother's accomplishments.

In our last episode, Leon Chandler and Keith Porter did not look forward to working together, but Mrs. Kelso had assigned them the task of sharing their poems. Leon was careful not to discourage Keith, and when it was time to share his own poem, Leon made one up. To his surprise, Mrs. Kelso heard his words and was amazed. Leon's secret was out. He was truly a gifted poet.

Last week, in the first chapter of Leon's Share, we met Leon Chandler, a fifth grader at Clara Barton Elementary School. Leon seems to have one goal - that is to keep his classmates laughing. Unfortunately, his joke telling is the very thing that keeps getting him into trouble at school.

This week, in an episode of Behind the Story with the Author, we take a look at the inspiration for writing book 2 in The Double Dutch Club Series - Something to Jump About.

Last week, the girls of the Double Dutch Club made it to the finals and realized the competition would be tough. They knew they would have to outperform a team called Excellence. Earlier, Brittan had said she didn't want to jump, but when she saw her dad had made it to the competition, she knew she had something to jump about.

Last week, in part one of Chapter 14, the girls of the Double Dutch Club wearing their gold and purple uniforms, were ready to get to The Coliseum. Rachel noticed her dad was missing and Brittany was concerned that she didn't see her mom. Mrs. Carter reassured them both that all was fine. The team and their chaperones boarded the van, but once they arrived, a nervous Brittany said she didn't want to jump. Everyone joined hands while Nancy said a prayer - a prayer that helped Brittany walk inside the beautiful Coliseum determined to jump with her team.

Last week, the girls of the Double Dutch Club were excited to reach North Carolina. Coach Hughes reminded them of the importance of getting a good night's rest. This way, they would be at their best for the competition. For them, the chance for their dream to become Double Dutch champions was only one day away from becoming a reality.

In our last episode, Brittany learned a lesson about believing. The Coach and Mr. Carter were believing for a van to transport the girls to North Carolina for the competition. Nancy believed The Double Dutch Club had a good chance to win. And Tanya tried to help Brittany believe her father might come to see her jump. It seemed everyone was learning the importance of having faith.

Last week, The Double Dutch Club officially welcomed two new members - Brittany and Amber. Upon receiving her purple and gold t-shirt and shorts, Amber was able to let go of her disappointment of not being able to jump in the upcoming competition. Brittany was overjoyed that she had been accepted by this special group of friends called The Double Dutch Club.

In Chapter 10, Brittany wouldn't open a letter she received from her father. She didn't find out its contents until Tanya opened it and read it. Brittany didn't put much faith in learning her father wanted to attend the competition, but Tanya encouraged her to pray and believe that her dad would make it to North Carolina and see her jump.

In our last episode, Brittany and Tanya couldn't jump Double Dutch for a week. Coach Hughes wanted them to think about how they had not been truthful with Mr. Stevens regarding their family tree projects. Both girls agreed they would never again do anything to jeopardize jumping with their friends in the Double Dutch Club.

In Chapter 8, Tanya thought she could help Brittany by giving her her project. Unfortunately for the both of them Mr. Stevens gave them a deadline to finish their own projects and informed them their grades would be lowered. He also insisted they tell Coach Hughes what they had done. Fearful that Coach Hughes might drop them from the team, the girls cautiously approached her to share their confession.

Last week in Part One of Something to Jump About -Chapter 8, More Than a Friend, we left off with Brittany and Tanya agreeing to have their projects ready to turn in on Monday. Mr. Stevens also informed them that their grades would be lowered.

In our last episode, Brittany was surprised when Tanya didn't show up to turn in her Family Tree Project. When Mr. Stevens expressed his pleasure with the project, Brittany felt guilty knowing she had not done the work. Even though she felt she needed to tell Mr. Stevens the truth, Brittany first decided she needed to find her friend Tanya.

Last week, Brittany had been welcomed to the Double Dutch Club, but Tanya warned if she didn't complete her project, she would not be able to jump. Knowing how important keeping up with schoolwork was to Coach Hughes, Tanya came up with a plan to help Brittany turn in her family tree project on time.

In our last episode, the girls of the Double Dutch Club were excited about the arrival of Coach Hughes. Amber and Brittany were each hoping to get a spot on the team. Coach Hughes was very impressed with the progress Amber had made over the summer. Both girls were happy when Coach Hughes made a surprising announcement.

Last week, the students in Mr. Stevens' class found themselves facing a deadline for their family tree project. While Tanya and Brittany's thoughts were focused on jumping Double Dutch on the blacktop, Tanya was glad she at least had managed to get her ideas on paper. However, she worried Brittany wouldn't finish her project at all.

In Chapter 3, Tanya introduced Brittany to the Girls in The Double Dutch Club and invited her to jump with them on the blacktop. And although Brittany didn't get a chance to jump that day, she was glad to have been included and given the opportunity to turn the ropes.

Last week, after an unfriendly encounter, Brittany and Tanya found themselves in the same homeroom. Their teacher Mr. Stevens conducted a welcoming exercise that caused the two of them to meet again. However, Tanya's discovery about Brittany made her realize that maybe the "new girl" was as confident as she appeared.

In our last episode, we met Brittany Bowman, a new girl at Grover Cleveland who seems to be able to give back what Tanya Gordan is dishing out.While Tanya is upset to find out that Ming had returned to China, she was glad to see her friends from The Double Dutch Club.Tanya did find herself wondering what the new school year had in store.

The girls of the Double Dutch Club meet up for the start of a new school year. To their surprise, they find themselves facing new changes and challenges as they look forward to getting ready for The North Carolina Jump Off.

Last week, the annual spelling bee took place and there were some surprises. When it was over, Abby was glad to find out that she and Cee Cee were not only friends, but as Cee Cee said, "We're best Friends!"

In Chapter 12, Abby was amazed that she was one of four spelling bee finalists from Mrs. Bellamy's class. And while she couldn't predict the outcome, she was happy to know she had made it this far.

In last week's episode, Abby saw a surprising event unfold. Debbie was out and Cee Cee would now be participating in the school-wide spelling bee if she became one of the four finalist from Mrs. Bellamy's class. Then, a big announcement from Mrs. Bellamy caused all of her students to eagerly look forward to the annual school event.

In our last episode, Abby and Cee Cee found themselves in the elimination rounds for the school-wide spelling bee. But when an unexpected delay caused the finals to be put off until the next day, Abby was glad to to know she would get some extra time to prepare.

Last week, Cee Cee found herself labeled a cheater by her classmates. Abby couldn't understand why her friend didn't tell Mrs. Bellamy who the real cheater was. She hoped somehow Cee Cee would still be able to participate in the school-wide spelling bee because Abby knew Cee Cee was probably the best speller in Mrs. Bellamy's class.

In Chapter 8, Abby and Cee Cee found themselves surprised that Nisha and Debbie had turned the tables on them to the point that Cee Cee was now the person in trouble with Mrs. Bellamy. Abby vowed to make sure Mrs. Bellamy will know the truth about what really happened to her special spelling book.

Last week, Debbie agreed she would confess to cheating in the spelling bee. Both Cee Cee and Abby were glad because neither of them wanted to tell Mrs. Bellamy about what had happened. While they didn't know what to expect when they returned from recess, Cee Cee and Abby knew they didn't want to be in Debbie's place and have to face Mrs. Bellamy with such terrible news.

In Chapter 6, Abby asks Cee Cee to help her win a blue ribbon. Cee Cee agrees to help her friend and decides to share a secret she's been holding inside. After talking with Abby, Cee Cee understood what she knew she had to do.

In Chapter 5, Cee Cee found herself surrounded by her classmates who accused her of lying. Abby insisted they leave Cee Cee alone. However, Abby knew at that moment she would not be welcomed in Nisha and Debbie's group of friends. When Cee Cee suggested she and Abby be best friends, Abby was happy because everyone knows best friends often share secrets.

In Episode 4, Abby's grandma dropped her off at Debbie and Dawn's home for the twins' birthday party. Abby was glad to see Cee Cee when she arrived, but she was annoyed that somehow Nisha had once again made herself the center of attention. However, Abby was just as shocked as everyone else when Cee Cee snatched the attention away from Nisha by making a shocking announcement of her own.

Last week, Abby got what she considered an unexpected gift. The math relay game that Mrs. Bellamy had posted on the blackboard was suddenly cancelled. Abby saw the cancellation as a win that for once went in her favor.

In Chapter 2, we learned that Abby hates Spelling Bees. She even has a special name for them, Spell Outs! She calls it that because as much as she'd love to win a blue ribbon, being the first student in her class to get called out always gets in the way of her dream.
