70 Years of the Phantom
See the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo7Skkvs1ts Become a member here https://peacemaker.fashion/ July 25, 2025, marks 70 years since the U.S. Navy first ordered the prototype that would become the F-4 Phantom. Born from a Cold War demand for a high-performance, carrier-capable interceptor, the Phantom would evolve into one of the most iconic and versatile combat aircraft of the jet age. From its maiden flight in 1958 to its continued service in select air forces in 2025, the Phantom's longevity is unmatched in the realm of supersonic multirole fighters. This documentary traces the Phantom's development, combat debut, and global deployment across five decades

F-4X Super Phantom
See the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqFumSrkefg Become a member here https://peacemaker.fashion/ In the early 1970s, General Dynamics and the Israeli Air Force quietly collaborated on one of the most ambitious upgrade programs for the venerable F-4 Phantom. Born out of a need for a high-speed reconnaissance platform that could counter the growing threat of Soviet MiG-25 Foxbats, the result was the F-4X—a "Super Phantom" capable of reaching speeds rivaling Mach 3. This documentary explores the little-known history of the F-4X and its reconnaissance counterpart, the RF-4X, including the political, technical, and strategic considerations that shaped—and ultimately doomed—the project.

Orion in Australian Service
See the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIbgW_VzEtM Become a member here https://peacemaker.fashion The Orion's increased range, speed and reliability enabled it to operate more widely with shorter response times than the Neptune. This was ideal for Australia to meet her obligations to monitor large expanses of the strategically important south-western Pacific and eastern Indian Ocean. The Orion was also crucial for the patrolling Australia's 200 nautical mile Exclusive Economic Zone and while maintaining a Search and Rescue standby commitment.

Classic Hornet in Australian Service
See the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wm8g2UX-tMI Become a member here https://peacemaker.fashion/ The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet revolutionized RAAF operations from 1985-2021 with 75 locally assembled multirole fighters equipping Nos. 3, 75, and 77 Squadrons. Featuring digital fly-by-wire, glass cockpit, nine hardpoints, and upgrades like APG-73 radar, AIM-120/AMRAAM, and Nite Hawk pods, it excelled in Iraq (2003 precision strikes) and Okra anti-Daesh missions with over 405,000 safe hours.

The A-16. Can a Viper turn into a Warthog?
Find the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XJeXhLto9c Become a member here https://peacemaker.fashion During the 1980s and early 1990s, the U.S. Air Force briefly explored an unconventional idea—transforming the lightweight, multirole F-16 Fighting Falcon into a dedicated close air support (CAS) aircraft to rival the A-10 Thunderbolt II. This video explores the origins, development, and ultimate failure of the A-16 concept: an ambitious attempt to turn a fast jet into a tank buster. In this documentary, we examine the context of the 1980s Air Force debates over the survivability and relevance of the A-10 in a high-intensity European conflict, as well as the F-16's theoretical payload capacity and overlooked CAS potential. We also delve into political and inter-service tensions that shaped the A-16 proposal, including pressure from the U.S. Army and NATO. The development of the A-16 Block 60 and the later F/A-16 variant—with advanced avionics and the GPU-5/A 30mm cannon pod—is covered alongside weapons trials and the major technical failures encountered when mounting a high-recoil gun on the F-16's centerline. Firsthand accounts from test pilots and engineers reveal challenges such as severe vibrations during gun tests and long-term airframe concerns. The documentary also discusses alternative proposals like the "Mudfighter" and contrasting doctrinal views on what CAS should entail. The project was ultimately canceled in the early 1990s, providing lessons on the importance of aligning aircraft design and doctrine with operational realities. While the F-16 proved remarkably adaptable in many roles, its high-speed, lightweight frame was fundamentally unsuited to the low-and-slow demands of battlefield close air support. This experience reaffirmed why the A-10—despite decades of criticism—remains an indispensable asset on the modern battlefield.

50 Years of the F-16
Check out the video here https://youtu.be/AFJQQTYFPZg?si=MtF3Ps47w4lwZY7N Join our membership here https://peacemaker.fashion From a humble beginning as a lightweight dogfighter to one of the most widely used multirole jets in the world, the F-16 Fighting Falcon has marked an extraordinary 50-year journey in military aviation. This episode traces the evolution of the F-16 from its inception during the Vietnam-era Lightweight Fighter Program to its present status as a global cornerstone of air combat. We explore the original vision behind the YF-16 prototype and its dramatic unplanned first flight in 1974. Early design philosophy focused on close-range agility and energy maneuverability. The aircraft's role was to serve as a low-cost complement to the F-15 Eagle, and it was subsequently selected for production. Throughout its history, the F-16 has seen various unique variants, including the F-16XL, F-16N, SFW, CCV, and the naval Vought Model 1600 proposal. Its combat debut came in 1981 during Israel's Operation Opera, where its precision strike capabilities were demonstrated. Multiple Multistage Improvement Programs (MSIP) have significantly enhanced the aircraft, leading to advanced HUDs, multifunction displays, BVR missile integration, and GPS-aided navigation. The introduction of modern targeting systems such as the LITENING pod and JDAM support further expanded its operational effectiveness in Block 30/32 aircraft. In addition, technology demonstrators like the AFTI F-16, MATV, and the current X-62 VISTA testbed have contributed to ongoing innovation. The development and significance of the Block 50/52 models, along with the emerging Block 70 export variants, highlight its continual evolution. Current modernization efforts under the PoBIT (Post Block Integration Team) program include the integration of APG-83 AESA radar, advanced electronic warfare suites, and BriteCloud decoy technology. Although it was never expected to outlast its heavier sibling, the F-15, the F-16 has become the most produced and widely deployed Western fighter of its generation. Over 25 air forces operate this aircraft, and U.S. Air National Guard units continue to rely on it for homeland defense and SEAD missions. The Fighting Falcon's future remains secure into the 2040s and likely beyond.

Gloster Javelin | England's Unconventional Interceptor
Britain's first true all-weather interceptor is often overlooked—but not here. Developed out of early Cold War anxiety and nuclear-era urgency, the Gloster Javelin was designed to defend the UK against an evolving Soviet threat. We break down its unusual design, development, and surprisingly capable service life—before it was ultimately overshadowed by faster, more advanced jets of the 1960s.
