Where’s the best place to put my money?

We’re coming to the end of April, which means the new tax year has well and truly begun. This might not affect the everyday lives of many people, but it is, at the very least, an opportunity to review your finances and set new goals. Gabriel Nussbaum, personal finance influencer, talks to Jamilla Blake about the significance of the April ‘reset’ and what it means for your taxes and savings. He gives us his ‘ISA 101’ breakdown, takes us through the different types of savings account and explains the benefits of getting into good habits even when you don't have much to put away. He also discusses how the Bank of England's base rate decisions affect the interest people can make on their savings and how best to budget with an irregular income. Tom Heath is back with his quick-fire quiz round! You can follow Gabriel on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. ℹ️ This video is not financial advice. Four ways to find financial confidence

Inflation is the rate at which prices rise. It directly affects the cost of living and, therefore, everyone in the country. But it doesn't affect everyone in the same way. Cameron Smith, personal finance influencer, talks to Jamilla Blake about how different people experience price rises, measuring inflation and what the Bank of England does to try and keep it at the 2% target. He gives us his four things that people can do to get ‘on the right track’ when their money is being stretched by factors that are out of their control. He also talks us through how his frustration with the academic system and its neglect of personal finance issues inspired him to become a content creator, using ‘the power of social media as a channel for educating people’. And Tom Heath returns with his quick-fire question round! You can follow Cameron on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. ℹ️ This video is not financial advice. How do interest rates affect my rent?

The Bank of England's decisions can have a substantial impact on how much landlords charge and, therefore, how much you spend every month. But how many people really understand this? Fisayo Martins, qualified accountant and founder of the Finance Matters education platform, talks to Jamilla Blake about how changes in Bank Rate can lead to changes in rent prices. She takes us through her experience of renting – or what she calls 'the start of my adulthood' – and how the responsibilities of council tax and utility bills 'catapulted her into the real world'. She also explains how the Renters' Rights Act, which comes into effect in May 2026, will provide more security for tenants in terms of no-fault evictions and price rises. Keep an eye out for Tom Heath and his quick-fire question round. ℹ️ This video is not financial advice.
