Sheila Jimison - Growing up I wanted to be a teacher, a nanny, and work with children of all ages. As I entered college though, I did not want to be around the politics of education but knew I still wanted to work with children. I worked in daycares and early childhood centers through college to get some experience. After earning my bachelors in Family Consumer Sciences I started my first job with OSU Cooperative Extension as a 4-H/HCE Educator. (I didn’t get far from the political side of education, LOL). After three years there, I became a nanny for three years. From one side of the stress spectrum to the other I went. After my short stint of being a nanny I became a paraprofessional for five years that re-awoke my desire to teach. I decided at this time, I could endure the political side of education and started the process of obtaining my certification. I obtained my alternative certification in Family Consumer Sciences and Mild/Mod Special Education; however, the only positions av
