My Igloo
by My Igloo
My Igloo are the brainchild of Andrew Livanis, a chain E-Cig smoking, classically trained piano player from the Ghetto. After a one week stint listening to the entire discography of Frank Zappa, Andy (The 'Overlord') had the unmitigated audacity (peekaboo) to form an Eskimo shaped musical hole to house his unique sound that has been described as 'dirty soul' and a 'psychotic dub circus'. The 7 piece My Igloo are from Manchester, mostly, but they certainly do not fit any stereotype Mancunian sound. To watch them walking on stage you'd wonder if each individual has turned up for the wrong band. They look strange standing up there together! That is, until they start playing, then the 'Aha' moment comes and you settle into their groove. You can see what each musician brings to the sound, something unique and something there own. Whilst its easy to tell the musicianship is high across the board there seems to be no lead instrument, the full band is coming out full force from the top
