Dustin, Sarah, and Matt are joined by Lauren Hottinger to dive into movies and tv. Lauren is a significant contributor to the world of role playing games and fantasy and is quite simply an all around awesome person. She has been a part of several successful Kickstarter campaigns, is proficient in fantasy mapmaking, and is a frequent contributor to several actual play podcasts. The conversation starts by recognizing that many shows and movies that are releasing these days are very fantasy driven. How do they compare to the fantasy content that dominated in the 80's and early 90's? Are practical effects scarier, better, or more effective than what moviemakers do now with CGI? It seems holiday candies show up on shelves earlier and earlier each year. Easter candy is in full display right now, so Dustin, Sarah, and Matt feel it's a good time to sort out the great from the gross.  We start by focusing on Easter candy, but move into a discussion about holiday candies in general and how much novelty contributes to our love of certain snacks.

Every generation grabs onto their own slang vocabulary and with words like "rizz" and "drip" floating around these days, how do we determine which words stick around for the long haul and which are only a passing fad.  In this episode, Dustin, Sarah, and Matt take a look at some words that are popping up on TikTok and ones that they hear their own kids using regularly.
