In tonight's No More B.S. show Michael and Shawn discuss what's happening in their lives. Michael discusses a few new technology products. Shawn will discuss the Washington State Community Summit. Plus we interview Michael's wife Emily who shares her advocacy story.  

Advocating for change is not an easy thing.  Society does not do well with changes but many have fought for change over the world's history.  People with disability have been the most oppressed population ever throughout history.  Washington state is on its way to being the first state to have a "Nothing About Us Without Us Act"  making it mandatory to have those receiving services and those making policy about us, must include us in the planning and discussions about things that will affect our life.  Join us tonight as we discuss our hopes in this new bill.

Here are two self-advocates advocating to beter all lives for people with disabilitiy.  Both highly involved in the political system, and changing laws to make everyone's lives free.  Fighting for full rights of people with disabiities.

Tonight we chat with one of the nation's most powerful and influential self- advocates Ivanova Smith, who like most people living with a disability are sick of the “so called professionals” making decisions for us.  Developing services and support for us.  Part of the shut them down coalition and one of the founders of nothing about us with out us.  The TBI Network fully supports this.  We are all sick of services being developed by Lawyers, neuro experts who cause more harm than good, after power and fame.  Doctors who think they get it, millionaire club directors and so many more who are getting rich off those with various disabilities.  A social model who think they know what’s best.  The buck stops soon.  We the people with disabilities are in process of taking back control of our lives after hundreds of years of institutionalization, isolation, neglect and abuse.

Tonight’s special Guest Justin Maxwell, will share his right out of a scary movie real life experience of what it was like to be forced into an institution. For thousands of years people with disabilities have been treated worse than animals, they have been killed, abandoned, experimented on and killed.  Hundreds of thousands have been buried in unmarked grave on institutions properties.  People with disabilities have been marginalized, discounted and labeled.  Everything is better now right, no wrong they are still put into institution, isolated from their communities, and the abuse and neglect continues to this day.  They are segregated in schools, many are put into state ran living alternatives if not institutions where they become community institutions, isolated and segregated not allowed to be part of the disability community.  They are not allowed to be part of groups that may educate what living independent truly means.  There are all kinds of different institutions, such as RHC for developmental, brain injuries, mental health, aging people, there are state and federal ran one, private and religious ones. Tonight’s guest will be sharing his lived experience and share why he is an advocate with the shut them down coalition. 

We need to fight like we have never fought.  A person with a disability can be forced into many types of institutional settings.  Such as RHC’s, nursing homes, mental facilities and even private institutions.  When one person’s rights are infringed all peoples rights our infringed.  People living with developmental or intellectual disabilities rights have been ignored for hundreds if not thousands of years.  Over 50 million persons living with disabilities in the United states   We are the largest minority group in U S history and should have a significant say in our lives, but don’t.  We are abused, mistreated and marginalized the second someone hears disability.  We need to stop the warehousing of people in any setting.  SHUT THEM DOWN is a coalition of self-advocates from all over and we are beginning to fight together to stop the segregation and labeling.  Building a new mind set of competence, and our unique abilities. The only way we can do this if we all do it together no matter your disability, they could be coming for you next.  Stand together and close institution that promote isolation, neglect that have kept us a second-class citizens for far too long

With the largest minority group in U.S. history.  Which are persons with disabilities.  Till this day the US has been warehousing people in institutions such as state and federal facilities and the only reason their there is because they live with a disability.  Washington State advocates are pushing to close these unhuman facilities places where people are warehoused and isolated.  Tonights special guest you don't want to miss.

Not being imprisoned for being different, this centruies long cycle must stop help us free those unjustly held against their wills, abused, isolated and hidden from society.

Here we are in the 21st century and society is still talking about state institutions for people with development at and intellectual disabilities.  Where for century’s the have benne mistreated, experimented on, rapped, killed and worse.  All this for the crime of nothing.  Being a little different than everyone else.  Usually kinder, more honest, sincere, friendlier and innocent of the twisted morals of today’s people.  Millions have already lived their childhoods and died in these death houses.  So, lets give them a pretty new name and a shiny new building in the end the result always ends up the same.  Say no to this Shut Them Down

Have you voted you should it is of essence that all Americans vote its a hard year because everything thrown at us by the media has been fake and covered up and everything fake some was real.  No one knows what to believe.  then there are those who have heard it so much they just believe it.  the parties don't represent anything they use to but one side says less government and the other wants socialism and communism.  there are remnants of the parties in there somewhere many people around us believe it is the end of the US.  This election is like no other.  the media has sponsored any opposition to their nominee of choice as well as big tech.  No matter who you are this should scar you, billionaire, deciding what you get to know and hear about.  No matter what side of the aisle you are one not many benefit from the rich in control of censorship. lost to take about to night  On a great note Mr rogers is going to share a case he just won in the Washington supreme court repealing an iMan issue, no harry has some issue with this should make for a fun conversation.  you don't want to miss their election coverage.  Some very special guests tonight.  The new state coordinator of people first and other national advocates.    

Politicians fill us with hopes and lies that never come to be, yet people still vote them in.  They are never held to account for their promises.  The attack anyone who dares question them.  they make laws like flatten the curve for just 15 tp 30 days.  6 months latterr were still flattening the curve mean while these elite went to their private gyms, had special access to their hair dressers and resturant were finding out.  we have 3 teirs of justice one for the rich one for us, then the one for trump supporters.  Like him or not he is treated far worse than any human being has been.  I think it is because he trys to keep his promises. No new wars, peace deals in the middle east, no threats from north korea the elimination of issis peace in affganistan a 20 year old war. face it the world is a safer place he has proven to be the master of the deal.  And they lie about him like him or not this billion are is closer to the average joe than an average joe.  Our world is upside down we have to fix it or we will stop being the greatest place that ever was.  Hillary and the resistance has made our country a bad place.  remember she swore to have a peaceful transfer of power she lied she is the biggest loser of all times like it or not.  it iks time we the people take bake our country make our laws apply to all encluding the rich.  Its time we the people take back what is ours
