Non-overlapping domain decomposition for near-wall turbulence modelling by Sergey Utyuzhnikov (Manchester)
Talk given by Dr Sergey Utyuzhnikov (Manchester) at Department of Aeronautics, Imperial College, London, 25 October 2017, as part of the ICL Aerodynamics seminar series. The talk discusses modelling the near-wall region of a turbulent boundary layer. It describes the near-wall domain decomposition (NDD) method, a flexible alternative to wall functions: the near-wall region is removed from the main computational mesh, which extends down to an interface near the wall - a simplified boundary layer equation is used to calculate boundary conditions at the interface.
