    The Kelham's:  Graham, fresh off Murray State's historic run through the college baseball World Series, and Bailey, the all-time scoring leader in GHS basketball who enters her junior year at Huntington, both join us on the podcast.  We discuss their athletic careers at Garrett and in college and have a little fun with sibling rivalries.

    We are back and continuing the college series.  Trey and Jaxson are 2022 GHS graduates who play football at Trine University and St. Francis respectively.

    Episode #32: Katie (DePew) Storie and Jordyn (Knott) McLeod

    Katie and Jordyn are 2012 GHS graduates and 2024 Railroader Athletic Wall of Fame inductees who have been best friends since infants.  Both were 3-sport athletes through high school, winning championships and setting records, before playing college athletics.  Jordyn then ran track at Purdue while Katie played softball and volleyball at Huntington.  We were able to catch up on all topics from high school days to their current roles as wives and mothers.

    Episode #31 (college series #4): Nataley Armstrong

    Nataley is a 2022 GHS graduate who excelled in cross country, basketball, and track.  She is about to start her senior year at Malone University playing NCAA DII basketball and earning her undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy.  We discuss both her high school and college experiences, and like she does in everything, Nataley brings her A-game.

    Episode #30 (College Series #3): Kyana Martinez and Emma LaPato

    Both Kyana and Emma just finished their freshman years in college, also playing volleyball.  Kyana is at Manchester University and Emma is at Marian University Ancilla College.  As part of our "college series" we catch up with a couple of GHS alums one year after graduation to discuss their college experiences, reminisce about their high school days, and offer advice to those with similar aspirations.

    Zak is a 2021 GHS graduate and new graduate of Defiance College where he played soccer earning his undergraduate degree.  We discuss his high school and college experiences, what it's like to be a coach's kid, and where he's heading from here.

    Episode #28: Jim Petre and Doug Klopfenstein

    Coaches Petre and Klopfenstein are retiring from teaching and coaching.  Coach Petre most recently has led our cross country program and Coach Klopfenstein retired as our head boys' soccer coach just a year ago.  They were gracious enough to give us, on their last school day ever with students, some time to talk about their careers in teaching and coaching.  These guys are two of the best to ever wear a whistle!

    Episode #27: Logan Smith

    Logan is a GHS graduate who still holds many of our volleyball records.  She attended Jacksonville State and Marian University.  She graduated in December with a Marketing degree, but she has committed to a 5th year at Division 1 Morehead State University where she will play volleyball and earn her MBA.

    Ok, so Carlee York, Kennedy Hutton, and Chloe Harter have been asking for the last couple of months to host the podcast and interview me, so I promised them we would before they graduate.  With only a couple of weeks left, we decided to get it done today.  Sorry.

    Episode #24: Ed Placencia

    Ed Placencia is an American Hero.  Plain and simple.  As a Garrett native and first generation American, his parents taught him from an early age that the USA is the greatest country on Earth.  Despite many chances to avoid Vietnam, Ed sought out the fight believing he owed a debt to the country that had provided him and his family the opportunities for a great life.  We talk about his upbringing in Garrett, but then, in tremendous detail, Ed details the war he fought in Vietnam.  Please heed the warning that begins our episode.  I refuse to edit, as I in no way want to diminish Ed's story.  He deserves every right to tell it his way.

    Coach Kraus is already a legend in Indiana high school wrestling, having built the GHS program over the past decade with all its success.  We talk about his background, wrestling here, and as always, we work to know him a little better.

    Ashlee is a junior softball player at GHS and this week's Garrett State Bank Athlete of the Week.  She and the softball team are off to a great start to the season.  We talk about her favorite sport and get to know one of our GHS athletes just a little better.

    Episode #21: Mallory Clifford, Mason Balzer, and Adelle Romanetz

    Mallory Clifford is the head track coach at GHS.  Mason is a senior athlete, and Adelle is a sophomore athlete, both on the track team.  We belatedly preview the track season and get to know our coach and athletes a little better.  It felt good to be back in the studio where the production is much smoother.  Thanks for you patience this last week if you were wondering when the next episode was dropping.

    Dave Wiant is a 1960 graduate of GHS who returned to coach the 1974 state championship football team.  He also served 2 terms as Garrett's mayor after retiring from teaching.  We talk about all of that.  Quick note:  (Dave is 80+ years old and forgot not to swear a couple of times....my apologies.)

    Coach Grindstaff is entering his 2nd year as the GHS head softball coach.  We met up in Panama City Beach, Florida and recorded outside.  As I figured, recording from the studio at GHS is much easier.  Aaron and I discuss his background in softball and preview the upcoming season.

    Sorry, this is a long one, but we couldn't help ourselves.  Tanner and Noah were 2017 graduates of GHS and members of the 2016 semi-state football team.  Tanner is leading "Fields of Faith" at GHS the evening of Friday April 4.  We reminisce the about their high school days and catch up with what both guys have been doing since high school.

    Chad was the first director of Garrett's Career Development Program.  He coached football and track at GHS, and his impact is still felt here.  We talk about his coaching days and what he's doing now living in Alabama.

    Dan Feagler.  If you are from Garrett or even northeast Indiana, Dan's name is probably a familiar one.  Dan is a 1975 GHS graduate, Wall of Fame member, and the all-time winningest basketball coach in school history whose girls' teams won numerous championships over the years.

    Episode #11: The Managers: Brooklyn LeQuia, Annie Decker, Kaylee Smith, and Danica Reynolds

    Brooklyn LeQuia, Annie Decker, Kaylee Smith, and Danica Reynolds hold the important jobs of sports managers here at Garrett HS.  All four were football managers this past fall, but they also manage other sports.  We discuss what they do at school and also learn more about these four wonderful young ladies.
