On One Foot

In this special installment of On One Foot, recorded at the 2026 National Hillel Basketball Tournament, Adam Lehman connects with Jewish student organizers, student athletes, participants, and Hillel professionals from across the country in a series of mini, on-the-ground conversations.Together, they share how NHBT is building Jewish community through sports, from student-led leadership and innovation to the ways competition, camaraderie, and shared experience strengthen Jewish identity and pride on campus. In the second episode of On One Foot, Betsy Polk Joseph shares how she became the senior director of Jewish life at Elon University, and how Jewish life on campus has grown since then. She also talks about the challenges Jewish students have faced since October 7th and why building real relationships across the university community matters now more than ever. As an added bonus, we're including a Student Spotlight. In this episode, Adam speaks with Einav Tsach, a fourth-year student at the University of Maryland (UMD) and co-chair of the Hillel International Student Cabinet. Einav shares what Jewish life looks like right now at UMD and where he thinks the future is heading. 

The first episode kicks off with a special Hillel International Global Assembly (HIGA) edition, featuring short conversations recorded with Hillel professionals from across the field.
