#22 - Adam Bratton & Human Powered Movement

🚨Episode 22: Adam Bratton🚨 Recently, I’ve been thinking about how cool it would be to run or workout with a guest before recording a podcast episode. Sure enough, that’s exactly what Adam suggested when we discussed doing a podcast together. I highly recommend it and plan to do the same thing going forward! Today’s guest is the founder of Human Powered Movement.  🧐What is Human Powered Movement? It is a culmination of MANY things, which Adam and I discuss.  Its mission: to inspire more activity in people’s lives.  Adam is the race director for their events which includes bike and running races - including MOVE, a bike and running race which is happening THIS WEEKEND, see website link below for details 🏁 It was an honor to hang out with Adam and talk all things HPM, running, and adventures - all while enjoying some of his home-brewed beer. He’s built a great company that wants to help people, the community, and the planet in every possible way.  I can’t wait to run in my first HPM event this year and join in on the fun! Also, check out their Strava Club and YouTube channel! #18 - OBX, Kentucky Derby, and Fall Marathon Reveal

EPISODE 18 On deck: OBX Half Marathon Recap Kentucky Derby Half Marathon race/weekend recap Upcoming Time Laps 24HR Race Preview Fall Marathon Reveal 👀 OBX I shocked myself by running the last mile under a 7 pace and was pumped how I made adjustments mid-race to achieve my goal. Sometimes solving the problem along the way can be more fun than achieving the goal. When you do both, it makes for a great weekend and leaves you hungrier for more! Kentucky Derby Half Chris achieved the 30 miles before turning age 30 with Lucas and I running alongside him for the first 7.5 miles. Going into the race, I wasn’t sure how my legs would hold up with the pace Chris wanted to run but they got the job done baby. It ended up being my second fastest half! This made me even more confident about my current fitness level and even more jazzed for my upcoming fall marathon.  Episode is short and sweet. Enjoy ✌🏼

    #1 - Why I Run

A glimpse into my athletic background and what lead me to where I am today with running. This is a solo episode but I will be doing mostly interview style episodes going forward. Along with interviews, I hope this podcast can help someone who is at the beginning of their journey - whether that be a new activity, a new business, or accomplishing a major goal - just as I am. By journaling on X and speaking about the journey on the podcast, I hope it gives them comfort in knowing that someone else is going through the same struggles that they are experiencing. I am not doing this podcast because I believe that I am an expert. I am doing this as a journal of my journey, to guide others who might be at the beginning of their journey, and to speak with amazing people from who we can learn. Enjoy.
