    The Shared Responsibility of Immigration

In this episode, we dive into a deep discussion between two immigrants and well-traveled individuals who, before immigrating to our new home country, considered and visited many countries to potentially move to, delving into research of each of their most pressing social issues including, of course, that of immigration. This is not a simple promotion of a shared stance, nor an argument about whose ideals are correct, but instead an exploration of the problems and solutions arising these days from mass migration, selective immigration, available and chosen paths to integration, welcome party policy capable of succeeding or sure to fail- from the perspectives of native residents as well as those newly immigrated.Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic (and more) with us.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed as soon as they are posted, to all subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind articles and Our Evening Tea episodesEverything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! Do differing values really alter lived experience?

Is each lived experience truly unique to the next? Do unique values equate to unique potential, and if so, is such potential able to be realized and lived out in the world as we live in today? Is there any standard answer to the deeper questions of what miht be righteous desire and action, or are we each tasked with finding some balance between what we would want, what people say we should want, what we can get, and what we all wish we could get?Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic (and more) with us.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed as soon as they are posted, to all subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind articles and Our Evening Tea episodesEverything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! Does coping not require pause?

Tragic occurences have been plaguing life and all people for so long that in the background of any moment- at all times- are stacks and stacks of things we still need to process- or move on from and ignore. Yet, we as humanity have no clear consensus on which we should pursue… so in this episode of Our Evening Tea, we try to delve in a bit and discuss the issue of if we should be slowing down society to allow for coping and processing of the tragedies and trauma which have been happening, or if we should ignore all bad and continue pushing forward with our business-as-usual attitude which has epitomized modern life.Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic (and more) with us.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed as soon as they are posted, to all subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind articles and Our Evening Tea episodesEverything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! Let's Normalize: Starting from scratch in later years

Kids have dreams, but this current world society all too often strips us of those dreams as we grow into what we can find comfort and safety in within the adult world. But as we get older and fledgling mid-life crises begin to peak their heads into our lives, the question arises of if we should drop the lives we’ve been building, in order to chase the dreams we all but gave up on earlier in life. Can we really make our childhood dreams come true when starting so late? What about those people who rely on us? How do we know if we will even enjoy living out the dreams we’ve been harboring? And what if the dream is not even specific, but we just want to do something, anything else?Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic (and more) with us.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed as soon as they are posted, to all subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind articles and Our Evening Tea episodesEverything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! Self-belief and determination vs corruption

Pressure comes from everywhere, all the time, bombarding us in our easiest and toughest decisions- and though some of that pressure might be well-intended, none of it seems to be beneficial, unless come from the self. However, in this episode, we discuss this and more in our seeking to find the answers to how to believe in ourselves even when noone else does.Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic (and more) with us.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed as soon as they are posted, to all subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind articles and Our Evening Tea episodesEverything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! Claim successes but not failures?

As humans, we tend all to often to claim our failures as being the fault each of our own; at the same time, we auction off the claim to our successes to whichever highest bidder happens to be in the vicinity. In this episode, we talk all about success and failure and their causes, even reaching the point where we realize- and go into depth discussing- that we should probably be claiming our successes as our own, and not clinging too hard to our failures other than to learn from them for the future. Is Marriage Culture a Problem Today?

In this episode, we discuss marriage and its implications in today’s world- from monogamy misshaping our potential as individuals, to who such misshapen potential benefits, and everything in between. We paint a bleak picture throughout this conversation about the realities of modern-day marriage culture, across cultures and micro-societies, but we also offer solace and resolution for those who might need such.Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic (and more) with us.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed as soon as they are posted, to all subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind articles and Our Evening Tea episodesEverything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! All About FEAR - with Dave MacLean

In this episode, we are joined by our very first guest on the show, Mr. Dave MacLean, a great long-time friend who has plenty of life experience stepping through fear. Is Worry Worth the Worry?

Worrying comes naturally to most people, is uncomfortable for all, yet feels productive- seemingly a necessary evil, if you will- but is this universal mindstate truly productive? Do we gain anything from spending our energy planning for things we can never predict or direct anyways? What does preparing ourselves for the worst actually do? Is there any benefit, or is the worry not worth the lost peace of mind?Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic (and more) with us.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed as soon as they are posted, to all subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind articles and Our Evening Tea episodesEverything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! A Summer Vacation that Never Ends

For this first episode of Season 2 of Our Evening Tea, we are beginning a new era here on the A Beautiful Grind Substack! There will be many changes, some of which you might notice if you have been tuning in to our podcast (or text articles) for some time. For Season 2, we are intending to post a podcast every week, rather than every other week as we began doing in Season 1. Also, podcast topics will not be directly correlating with text article topics, and though I will still be posting text articles, they will be about topics fully independent from podcast topics. As far as text article topics, I am still brainstorming exactly what to be writing about for the next 16 weeks as we run Season 2 of our podcast, but for podcast topics, we have set an intention to keep them a bit more personal and vague, seeing wherever they might lead us in conversation, rather than choosing direct social commentary issues to discuss as we did during Season 1. I have already begun thinking about Season 3, and for that we might return to the social commentary issues, maybe just revisiting the same issues from Season 1 but this time with guests (considering we have had many potential guests reach out about joining in discussion of our already-posted topics). As for the future, we can only plan and try to execute on our plans, but nobody truly knows how things will turn out. All we can know is what we already have, which is this here Episode 1 of Season 2, for your viewing pleasure! That’s right! We are including video this season! So sit back, enjoy the talk, join us in the comments if you feel so inspired, make sure to hit the like button if you’re enjoying yourself, and let’s talk deeply over tea.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed as soon as they are posted, to all subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind posts and Our Evening Tea episodesThis post regards the following:For this episode, we will be talking about our now-passing summer- things we did, lessons we learned, growth we enjoyed (or suffered through), and what we hope to retain from this big Summer of 2025.Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic (and more) with us.Everything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! Without this hope, would we, as an entire human species, have perished? To this question, we have no answer- only more questions:Where does this hope come from? Why does hope exist, where does it go when it is away, why does it leave, why does it return- and, most importantly, why does it still exist despite having remained unrealized since the dawn of humanity? The Corporate Cogs of the War-Monger

This fourteenth episode of Our Evening Tea is supplementary to an article posted to the A Beautiful Grind Substack, entitled “Corporate Life in a Warring World”.All articles and podcast episodes are available here, and are emailed weekly to subscribers: All A Beautiful Grind posts and Our Evening Tea episodesThis post regards the following:Life- not to mention work and mundane tasks- can feel obsolete during times of intense suffering. In our modern world, however, we have quite the conundrum: in order to sustain our individual survival, there is only one viable way for most people to do so, yet that pathway to survival itself sustains the wars ravaging our world today, keeping us suffering as a greater humanity, and making life feel obsolete. So we are stuck in a system that forces us to work, and uses our work against us. Though most people going to work every day in order to sustain their families do not support the reasons our leaders take us to war, our corporate jobs pay to keep the wars raging; by remaining productive in the corporate arena, we are being used by the war-mongers to fund wars, and we have no say. So what to do? Should we all quit our jobs and starve to death? Should we turn a blind eye to the greater effects our work has on the world, opting to simply bring home our paychecks and hope for the best? Something else? Well, we sure do not have all the answers, but in this episode of Our Evening Tea, we will be discussing this conundrum from as many angles as we can attack this issue from.Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic with us.Everything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! But there might be a missing link: given the present state of the world, authenticity might look different than it would in an ideal world, and even abandoning our truest, deepest selves in exchange for safety might be the most genuine choice sometimes. As we grow, these dreams fade, and we join the rat race, or whatever other standardized ways of living we might fit into, which seem to directly contradict with our ability to realize our childhood dreams. However complete this spirit dampening and societal normalization might seem, we hold onto our childhood dreams in subtle ways, whether in the careers we choose, the content we create, the ways we help to lead or guide those around us, and generally how we live our lives, albeit more structured in the adult world. In this episode of Our Evening Tea, we talk about this and more, as we try to get closer to answers about if we can have an impact on the world, and if so, how, and if we can not know for certain, what we should do in lieu of certainty.Join us as we talk, and hop into the comments or our Subscribers-only Chat Space on Substack to get deeper into this topic with us.Everything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us cups of Tea !! Like a deal with the devil, but the opposite, whereby worldly desires are abandoned for a higher purpose in some cases, or simply survival for survival’s sake, in others. To complicate the topic further, in the United States (where we are coming from) and maybe in other places around the world, ensuring survival itself is a life-and-death situation at all times, with little to no community support. Being a country with immense amounts of wealth (albeit improperly distributed), this seems absurd that infrastructure has yet to be developed with everyday outdoor activity and the health of the population in mind. Growth- both of the self and greater society- is necessary for the development of life itself. As we grow, though, all in our own time and space, at our own rates, of our own will-power or urged by the divine, contention will arise between friends and family who just don’t get our ‘new selves’. Can laziness be clearly defined?

This fourth episode of Our Evening Tea is supplementary to an article posted to the A Beautiful Grind Substack, entitled ‘Let’s Normalize: Laziness”.This post regards the following:In such a fast-paced world as we are living, where productivity is held in the highest regard but we often find ourselves asking the question of what or who such productivity even benefits, is it wrong to take time for ourselves, in whatever way we choose? Is it harmful to ourselves and each other to allow ourselves to doom scroll, sit around doing nothing, incessantly watch tv or play video games, generally find more time and energy for hobbies than work, or “waste time” in any way? Is high intensity production for the system of capitalism any better, in the grand scheme, than sitting around doing what might be deemed as unproductive by the same system?Join us as we talk, and let’s hopefully begin to normalize laziness.Everything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us a cup of Tea This is a public episode. Due to societal factors out of our individual control, we are forced into positions where we must oftentimes forego the good sides to our basic human nature. This culture of idolization is deeply engrained in modern human society; everywhere we look, we are being directed to worship people rather than to simply appreciate their efforts. Join us as we discuss why this is and how this effects us, and join the conversation on Substack (through comments and the subscribers-only chat space) to figure out what we can do to alleviate some of the relentless pressure this puts on everyone to be something other than ourselves.Everything here is free for now, but you can support our efforts through the following donation link: Buy us a cup of Tea This is a public episode. AI and who is poised to benefit

This first episode of our relaunched podcast, Our Evening Tea, is directly related to an article posted to the A Beautiful Grind Substack, entitled ‘A Human Perspective on AI’. Articles sent out every Sunday; related podcast episodes posted shortly after. This episode is regarding the following:Throughout history, new inventions and technological advancements have been touted as being for the benefit of society and people. Inventors invent things that seem to fill a gap; to offer something useful. But the evolution of economy has led us to a point where these new inventions and rapidly advancing technologies are being used as a tool by the ultra-rich to line their own pockets, above all else. Join us as we discuss this capitalistic conundrum we are facing today, as AI comes full force into every market, directly effecting our everyday lives. This is a public episode.
