Randy Rogers has been the lead singer and songwriting powerhouse behind the Randy Rogers Band for over 25 years. I've had the privilege of writing many songs with Randy for the band— including "In My Arms Instead", "Buy Myself a Chance", "Satellite", "Interstate" and many more. Not long ago, he spent a few days at Silent Desert Studio, and graciously sat down with me for a deep dive into the craft. Taylor McCall came into his intimate gravely voice and other worldly cosmic songwriting somewhat late in the game, comparatively. I met Taylor in his early twenties through a co-write here at Silent Desert Studio and knew right away that we were kindred spirits, and that I wanted to make a record with this magic boy. Fast forward three records later that we've made together here mostly at Silent Desert Studio ("Black Powder Soul" 2021, "Mellow War" 2024, and "The Porch Session" 2024), and we have become not only constant co-creators but I also consider him one of my closest brothers. When it came time to decide who the first guest of the Out Of The Silent Desert Podcast would be, I didn't have to think twice.
