Episode 4: Hepburn and Hollywood on a Roman Holiday
In the final episode of Season 1, we focus on the screening of one of the so-called Hollywood-on-the-Tiber films, Audrey Hepburn's Hollywood debut in Roman Holiday (William Wyler, 1953). In this episode, we discuss Audrey Hepburn's debut, her legacy, and the character of Princess Ann in the film. We'll chat about her on-screen relationship with older male characters. We'll also cover the film's production as part of the so-called Hollywood-on-the-Tiber films of the 1950s and 1960s, to further contextualise the film.
