Growing up in Aldershot with a father in the Paratrooper Regiment, Dale idolised the military life and followed directly in his father’s footsteps. After attending boarding school, he joined the Paratrooper Regiment himself, serving as both a machine gunner and sniper, with tours in Afghanistan.But life after the forces proved far more dangerous than combat. Already functioning with alcohol during his service, Dale found himself without structure once he left, and drinking quickly escalated into hardcore drugs. What started as freedom spiralled into routine destruction. In July 2024, everything came to a head when Dale assaulted a police officer. Expecting nothing more than community service, he turned up to court intoxicated, leading to a breakdown with his solicitor and a six-month prison sentence — of which he served three.Dale describes prison as the moment reality finally hit. The shock forced him to confront the path he was on, and from that moment he made a promise to himself to change. Today, Dale is sober from both alcohol and drugs, rebuilding his life with a clear mind, a happy family, a new home, and a renewed outlook on what truly matters.This is not a glorified story — it’s an honest one.
