The High Strangeness of Bigfoot: The Intersection of Science and Mystery with Ronald C. Meyer and Mark Reeder
Filmmakers and authors, Ronald C. Meyer and Mark Reeder, discuss why Bigfoot defies simple biological explanation, saying witness reports of Bigfoot vanishing, interacting with the environment unseen, and other anomalies lead him away from being an ape in the woods to something stranger. From the Patterson-Gimlin film to Jacques Vallée’s "Control System Hypothesis", we explore how intent and ritual—like investigations facilitate paranormal experiences. Gabrielle and Jody share a recent encounter and the four discuss why humans, unlike AI, are able to thrive in the mystery, and how the phenomena itself gives us just enough, to keep us asking, "What is out there?". Let us know what you think in the comments. You Asked a Question: Don Hill on the Legacy of Michael A. Persinger and Our Influence on the Paranormal
We are happy to share a conversation with journalist and artist Don Hill about his collaboration with Dr. Michael Persinger and the Koren (“God”) Helmet, which uses pulsed energies to stimulate the temporal lobes. Hill recounts a ghost experience in his Rocky Mountain home and later re-experiencing the same presence and fear in Persinger’s lab, raising whether such events can be created externally or reveal something that's already inherent. He discusses external factors that may shape paranormal and religious experiences, including geophysical features, piezoelectric effects in stressed granite, infrasound and standing waves, and “space weather” from solar storms possibly correlating with anxiety and common anomalous reports. He references Jung’s view that UFOs, poltergeists, and ghosts increase during cultural tension, and explores epigenetic memory. Hill argues some people may be exceptional “psychonauts”, but emphasizes scientific measurement, and urges collaboration between artists and scientists, using tools like sound and repetition, meditative states, and art to explain how perception can be shaped into reality. Exploring the Estes Method
How did we get from spirit horns to spirit boxes? We’re exploring a brief history of Instrumental Trans-Communication (ITC), starting with American Spiritualism, moving through the magnetic tape era, and landing on the Estes Method. Conceived at the Stanley Hotel in 2016 by Connor J. Randall, Karl Pfeiffer, and Michelle Tate, it’s a fascinating paranormal experiment and investigation tool. We’ll discuss how to use it and why we love it, while keeping a grounded perspective. Do you use the Estes Method in your own investigations? Do you use similar or modified versions? Let us know! The Church
On this episode of "Podcast of the Paranormal," Gabrielle, Jody and Jeff (who was not present at the outing) delve into a wooded area they call "The Church". Jody shares his history with the area, including encounters with mysterious "ghost lights" and auditory illusions from the babbling brook. There's brief discussions of local, unfounded urban legends as they recount their chilling first investigation at the local spot. After their younger companions left, Gabrielle, Jody, and another former member experienced strange rustling. This culminated in Jody, Gab, and another former team member encountering a terrifying antlered shadow entity crossing the road before charging directly at them. This frightening encounter still leaves Gabrielle fearful of the entity's nature, yet "The Church" remains one of their favorite locations for investigations. The hosts invite listeners to share similar encounters and folklore, especially concerning "man-deer" sightings. Jody and Gabrielle pick up their conversation with psychic, author, and fellow podcaster Heather Woodward, diving deeper into the intriguing world of thoughtforms and their connection to the paranormal. The discussion kicks off with a fascinating comparison between thought forms and generative AI. Heather shares her unique perspective, suggesting that just as AI conversations "exist" only when engaged, so too do thoughtforms when given energy and attention. This concept offers a comforting thought: perhaps these entities aren't constantly lurking, but rather brought to life by our interaction and focus.
