Yusuf Ledesma: National Commission on Muslim Filipinos was already successful in Halal certification. Why are some of our brothers pushing this Halal certification board in the congress? Monher Bajunaid: The Office of Muslim Affairs, it has been practice of OMA to certify Hahal products. But when there was a petition in the Supreme Court for the OMA to stop certifying Halal products, the certifying had been stopped by the OMA. With the advent of NCMF they have been tasked to accredit Halal product. But there is a move now in congress by some sectors. They would like to take it out from the NCMF and bring it to DTI or DA which to me is not the expertise of either of the government agencies. "When Ninoy was still incarcerated, Ninoy Aquino, we were already wearing t-shirts of Ninoy and when Martial Law was in it’s hay day and there were a lot of political prisoners and there were so many students who were imprisoned and put on stockage, we used to fetch them sa mga stockage noon, in Bicutan. We were the fetchers, my wife and I.
