16. Niki chats: We answer your juicy juicy friendship dilemmas
Right, straight off the bat I'm gonna acknowledge that I took a little detour in this ep. I paused my quest for identity to instead bask in the joy that is talking about other people's problems. Why? Because I wanted to and friendship is kinda a big deal when you're a mum. And, because, I can?So, I asked you for your friendship dilemmas and YOU GUYS DELIVERED. I got so many messages that I've just selected my favourite 4 to answer in this ep with Niki. Our 4 friendship dilemmas:1. Looking after the sloppy drunk friend2. My friends hate my husband3. What do you do when you're friend is being a downer?4. My mum friends don't teach their kids to shareYep, we're unqualified to give any real advice. But, do we do it anyway? Of course. And you better believe I want to know what you think. Comment, DM, review. DO YOUR THANG!Enjoy! x

15. Losing a parent and becoming a parent within a year with Nikki Gillett
When I invited Nikki onto the pod, it was because I wanted to know what it was like for her - a professional acrobat and aerialist - to go through the experience of pregnancy and early postpartum. But, as you'll hear in this chat, Nikki's journey to becoming a mother was far more complex than meets the eye. Just before Nikki found out she was pregnant with her son Mason, she lost her dad to cancer. Navigating pregnancy as an athlete is one thing, but adding in handling crippling grief? It's unimaginable, and Nikki shares some real insights on life and moving forward with me in this conversation.Of course, we also talk about how Nikki maintained her athleticism throughout pregnancy, and what's it's been like to recover and rebuilt postpartum.Be sure to give her a follow on Insta for endless inspiring content @nikkig_aerialistEnjoy x

11. Life as a Muslim mother with Safeena Ahmad
In this episode, I'm thrilled to be joined by Safeena Ahmad. A mum, a teacher, and a Muslim woman, Safeena is someone who I was very eager to talk to. I was curious to know whether her faith impacts her experience of womanhood and motherhood. As someone who's never had much exposure to religious communities, I'm not afraid to admit that my knowledge of the Muslim way of life was extremely limited before this chat with Safeena. So, I approached this one with genuine curiosity - please be kind if (and when) I mess up terminology or seem completely uneducated. I am a big believer in messy conversations being far superior to no conversations at all.In this episode, we cover:The Muslim experience of birth and postpartumHow modesty shapes the Muslim way of lifeHow it feels to be stereotyped and feel so visible everywhere you goHow mothers are cherished within the Muslim communityPlus, Safeena answers my (somewhat direct) questions about gender segregation.I left this chat with such a deep respect for - and greater understanding of - the Muslim way of life, and a profound appreciation for their undeniable honouring of mothers. Speaking to Safeena reminded me how important the role of motherhood is. Big warm and fuzzies.Enjoy xx
