Neuro-Mixed Monday #6: This week SUCKED for Brian...but why? Casie tries to pinpoint that out.
Brian is having a really rough week and is in one of the worst funks in a LONG time. Casie sits with Brian to go over what's been going on in his head, because that's usually where these thoughts and feelings will come from first. Brian also discusses a video he posted online about what goes on during these feelings and thoughts, and how he appreciated the support from such a vulnerable and honest recording. Also, Brian watches Spongebob Squarepants for the first time after finding out that the character has been announced on the spectrum. Hear his thoughts...not much changed there to be honest. Neuro-Mixed Monday #5: Casie interjects on when Brian is always "Squirreling"
What is "squirelling" and why does Brian have a heavy case of the "squirrels" all the time? This makes it impossible for Brian to enjoy a dinner when there are TV's on, or a guitar player doing their worst cover of "Wonderwall." It could be when you are on the phone and something catches your attention, and you zone out on the conversation for a minute or two. Squirelling can be exhausting and something many of us with ASD and ADHD are afflicted with every day. In this episode, Brian brings it up to Casie, and they go over how it affects their "any given day" and how Casie handles it too. Please subscribe as we are growing & connecting with so many new ideas, interviews, & friends to celebrate with. We are constantly posting to educate & inform all the amazing followers & listeners. Neuro-Mixed Monday #3: What 0 to 100 MPH meltdowns look like with ASD & ADHD
We talk about what 0 to 60 feels like, but Brian tends to go from 0 to 100 MPH with his melt-downs — or as Casie calls them, "speed bumps" in getting "used to" things. His perspective was influenced by the Netflix docuseries Love On The Spectrum U.S., Season 3, particularly by one of the subjects, Conor. What triggers these intense reactions for Brian? Are they usually sparked by the tiniest things, or do they escalate into huge, catastrophic incidents? Please subscribe as we are growing & connecting with so many new ideas, interviews, & friends to celebrate with.
