"A Merry Little Ex-Mas" with '90s screen queen Alicia Silverstone: review of Netflix's big 2025 Christmas movie

I wanted to love this, like FOR REAL for real. This movie has the perfect ingredients: the holidays, romance, an extremely hot guy, and the star of one of my all-time favorite movies, "Clueless." So did it work out for your intrepid reviewers, or nose-dive into disappointment? Listen to find out!Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!

"ACOTAR" book review: Battle of two fae hotties

Sarah J. Maas wrote A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR), the tale of 19-year-old human Feyre who journeys to the faerie world, when she was just 23 years old. Ten years and four more books later, all things ACOTAR have launched the red-hot "romantasy" (romance/fantasy) genre to the height of popularity. Holly and Lily read the first book, recap it, and try to figure out what all the fuss is about. Pros: Hot male fae. Cons: Well, you'll just have to listen to find out.Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!

"Love of the Irish" review, Hallmark sexy or just plain sad?

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, we found the latest Hallmark movie for such a time as this. Cute Irishman plot has to be a winner, right? Well ... maybe if they did a better job casting or styling the leading lady ... we've got words for this one.Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!

Review of Hallmark's latest schlock, "Return to Office"

In the latest non-holiday offering from the Hallmark Channel, workplace romance and enemies-to-lovers seemed good ingredients—as well as Scott Michael Foster of "Crazy Ex Girlfriend" fame—but the results came up as steam-free as the North Pole. Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!

Tropes Part 2 and the Hottest Male Main Characters

Our co-hosts cover the rest of their trope list (alien/monster, ghosts/witches/fairies/vampires, secret baby, billionaire, playboy/allergic to commitment, insta-love, grumpy-sunshine, BDSM/sex club, escort, historical, royalty, amnesia, forbidden love interest like brother’s best friend, sports star, rock star, small town, bully/high school, nanny-single dad, motorcycle club). They finish off by discussing why male main characters are all the same—and whether that's a good or bad thing.Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!

Loving & loathing romance books and intro to tropes

Do you read it seriously or feel like you're eating a pile of candy? Our hosts are truly the yin & yang of romance readers. While Lily actually likes romance in books and life, Holly rolls her eyes at squishy hearts and likes the bad characters. Next up, we go over Part 1 of common tropes (stepbrother, student-professor, age gap/reverse age gap, forced proximity, workplace, fake marriage, enemies to lovers, second chance, reverse harem/why choose, mafia), and whether we love or hate them. Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!

Review of "The Hating Game" movie - why did they do this?!

The movie version was released in 2021, and we have some THOUGHTS about the casting. Plus, every book adaptation has some changes from the book, but a few of these were truly inexplicable, as we discuss. Adult themes, not for young ears! Movie is currently available to stream on Disney+.Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!

Review of "The Hating Game" (book) - problematic but still priceless (and steamy!)

Sally Thorne's debut novel caused a sensation in 2016, but how does a book about late 20-somethings stack up today before our corporate expert and judgmental spice authority? PG13+ discussion.Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!

Review of "Happy Howlidays" - a doggoriffic acting disaster

Hallmark's "Mr. Christmas" competition concludes with with the full-length movie "Happy Howlidays." Find out if Lily and Holly agreed with the choice of winner ... spoiler alert ... this might be the worst acting ever seen. PG discussion.Follow Redheads on Romance on Instagram!
