RELATIONS: Facing Slavery's Legacy

Introducing RELATIONS, a podcast that explores the legacy of chattel slavery in America from the point of view of a descendant of enslavers, as well as the point of view of descendants of the people they enslaved. After the brutal murder of George Floyd in 2020 and the explosive summer that followed, I decided it was time to learn the truth about my ancestors' involvement in the slave society of the Antebellum South. The journey has been painful, inspiring, shocking, heartbreaking, and deeply rewarding. Join me as I explore the legacy of slavery in my own family tree and in our shared history as Americans. Until that time, she knew very little about American history and nothing about genealogy. Her blog, Relations, shares the stories of the remarkable individuals her ancestors enslaved.
