Financial Traps Women Fall Into (and how to avoid them)
If you stopped working tomorrow, how long could you financially survive on your own?Not in theory. Not in a spreadsheet somewhere. In real life.Lately I’ve been seeing headlines about rising homelessness in Australian women over 55. At first, it feels distant. But when you dig deeper, this isn’t just about homelessness. It’s about superannuation gaps. It’s about part-time work and motherhood. It’s about divorce. It’s about rising cost of living, rent vesting and what really happens financially when life doesn’t go to plan.In this episode, I sit down with financial adviser Jayde Jenkins to unpack the financial blind spots women can’t afford to ignore and what we should be doing in our 20s, 30s and 40s to protect ourselves. We talk about:* Why homelessness in women over 55 is rising in Australia* The long-term financial impact of career breaks and part-time work* What divorce really means for superannuation and property* Rent vesting and whether it protects you long term* Reverse mortgages and accessing equity later in life* The financial red flags women consistently overlook* Why personal insurance matters more than most of us realise* How to build an emergency fund even if you’re starting from zero* The financial order of priorities if you’re earning well and want a clear roadmapThis conversation isn’t about fear. It’s about awareness.Because the women most affected aren’t irresponsible. They’re capable, educated women who experienced illness, separation, age discrimination or simply underestimated the long-term impact of stepping out of the workforce. If you care about financial independence, protecting your future and making sure you always have options, this episode is for you.Watch the episode about Divorce with Divorce Lawyer Steph https://open.spotify.com/episode/1rt5VRTIeCfqY6lqsdTjit?si=osuHOJawSmav0wlpaR2mMQ&pi=OPmEw2m3So2DL&t=0Connect with Jayde on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/jayde_financialadviserFollow Ash on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ashcam____New episodes weekly.Follow Reset so you never miss a conversation your future self will thank you for.

Baby Sleep, Breastfeeding and Co-Sleeping: What’s Actually Normal?
Before Rose was born, I thought I had prepared well. I had already interviewed incredible experts about postpartum nutrition, hormonal crashes, mental health and recovery after birth. I felt informed and ready for what the fourth trimester might bring. But once Rose arrived, the two things that surprised me most were breastfeeding and newborn sleep. The reality of milk supply, feeding a newborn, contact naps and baby sleep (or lack of) looked very different to what I had imagined. In this episode I’m joined by Melissa Hays, a paediatric nurse, midwife, internationally certified lactation consultant and holistic baby sleep consultant who has built an online community of more than 90,000 parents seeking calm, evidence based guidance around breastfeeding, formula feeding and baby sleep. This is the conversation I wish I had listened to before giving birth to Rose.Melissa shares what she wishes every parent knew about breastfeeding, how stress and exhaustion can affect milk supply, what biologically normal baby sleep actually looks like in the first year, and why so many families quietly co sleep even though it’s rarely talked about openly. If you’re pregnant, newly postpartum, or navigating the first year with a baby, this episode will help you feel more informed, more confident and far less alone. In this episode we discuss: How to filter through conflicting advice from midwives, doctors, friends and the internet without losing confidence in yourself Three things Melissa wishes every woman knew about breastfeeding before giving birth Fascinating facts about breastmilk and how it changes based on your baby’s needs How to choose a formula if you decide to supplement or exclusively formula feed How stress, exhaustion and pressure can impact milk supply in the early weeks How babies sleep around the world and why different cultures approach baby sleep differently What biologically normal baby sleep actually looks like in the first year of life Why co sleeping is still taboo in Australia even though many families end up doing it What parents need to know to co sleep as safely as possible if it happens Why traditional sleep training advice like cry it out is now being questioned by more professionals Whether contact naps are actually a bad habit or a completely normal phase of developmentAs always, take what resonates and leave the rest. There is no single perfect way to parent, only the way that works best for you and your baby.Key links from this chat: Follow Reset Podcast on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/reset___podcast/ Follow Ash on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ashcam____/Follow Mel on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/cocoonandcradle/Return to work guide https://www.cocoonandcradle.com/returning-to-work?fbclid=PARlRTSAQcxNNleHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAafx8l2qGd9Hrboyejk0dysndBsRYLigcpbLH55G9lm155KNzAOfXFdaveOR1g_aem_Le9DHYO1Vmxw8vCN5QUkawBaby & toddler Sleep FAQs https://www.cocoonandcradle.com/baby-toddler-sleep-faq?fbclid=PARlRTSAQcxINleHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAad9n2RK_RufJE6akE1eDPMsoh3tB9R4p6KLCAzSUpV4b_fScnBKBtk2qq03BA_aem_edznNMOc9ocT77ZFPRzpkwBreastfeeding FAQs https://www.cocoonandcradle.com/optin?fbclid=PARlRTSAQcxG1leHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAacgbF-dpHqJtwE-3KzVTbnTDlXzNRpUBd4LI-kKVdZZdHp14kudLXHZlWIamA_aem_zLcUJlmpCkpVWNnDkMhVKgJoin the Cocoon Circle https://www.cocoonandcradle.com/cocoon-circle?fbclid=PARlRTSAQcxK9leHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAaegNcGyUtYd6RlqdG0PLZvnSMTU-hkXUABar4cV7A1QJfcW5u3PdBQMTdnPuQ_aem_qxxJpRJpvYDRh1rXsBbi_QAustralian Breastfeeding Association https://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/resources/co-sleeping

What Every Woman Should Know About Divorce - Interview with Divorce Lawyer Steph
This was an episode that multiple women have privately messaged me to say thank you for. The insights, resources and support that Steph shares are things that 50% of us will need in our lifetime. And with statistics like that, if it's not us, it is one of our best friends. Yes, it's an awkward topic and we'd rather avoid it... but if we are interested in marriage and relationships we also need to be aware of divorce. Stephanie Murray is a Family Lawyer and Partner at Richardson Murray Law. Her team has helped thousands of couples to navigate divorce so I felt like she is the perfect person to ask all of my curious questions. Are divorce rates declining? Why do couples get divorced? When is divorce a good idea? How do some men avoid paying child support? Are all assets (including crypto and superannuation) included in a settlement? Are there free resources for people who can't afford a lawyer? How long does it take to get divorced? Should you get a mid-marriage prenup before having children? This episode is packed with practical wisdom and I think you should share it with all your girlfriends. It will help us all to make informed decisions when entering a relationship, having children or considering marriage. It will also help empower those who may currently feel trapped. YCL’s Fabienne Costa | How She’s Living, Leading & Creating in Alignment
This week on Reset, I sat down with Fabienne Costa, Founder of YCL Jewellery and Co-Founder of SRLA for a conversation that I know so many of you will find powerful and personal.Fabienne is one of those women who leads with heart and honesty. We spoke about what it really takes to build and grow a business, how she’s navigated co-founding SRLA with her friend, and how becoming a mother has changed the way she leads and lives. She also opened up about her fertility journey - something that so many high-achieving women silently go through and how it taught her to soften, surrender, and rethink success. I’m so grateful for how generously she shared the raw, emotional side of that chapter in her life.We also touched on leadership, social media, personal branding, and how she chooses what to share online versus what she protects. And of course, I couldn’t resist asking what advice her 90-year-old self would give her today. If you're building something, navigating change, or feeling like you're in a season of unknowns this one’s for you.In this episode, we chat about:Why she ignored the advice to never go into business with a friendThe behind-the-scenes of building not one, but two brandsHer fertility journey - and the lessons she learned beyond the spreadsheets and goal-settingHow motherhood has shaped her leadership styleWhat she shares on social media (and what she chooses to keep sacred)How she’s thinking about AI and the future of businessThe things she’s doing now to help set her daughter up for a thriving futureAnd the powerful wisdom she imagines her 90-year-old self would offer her todayThis is such a beautiful and honest chat. I hope it reminds you that you’re not alone - and that even in the hardest chapters, there is softness, strength, and space to rewrite the story.CONNECT WITH FABIENNE:YCL Jewels: https://ycljewels.comSRLA: https://srla.coInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/fabienne.ycl/CONNECT WITH ASH:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ashcam____/Reset Podcast: https://www.instagram.com/reset___podcast/

The Psychology of Your Strengths: A 2025 Mid-Year Reset
Welcome to the middle of 2025! This is a solo episode where you'll hear me being a fangirl over a framework that is based on 60 years worth of research into positive and strength based psychology. We have 6 months left to make the most of 2025 and I think it's a beautiful opportunity for us all to be reflecting on our career, relationships and lives. Reflecting on these things with our strengths in mind will give you greater clarity on how you can make the most impact and have the most fun in this lifetime. What is this framework? It started with a simple question… Six decades ago, Psychologist, Don Clifton, noticed that all of the books published on psychology were focussed on what was wrong with people. So he started asking “what would happen if we studied what was right with people?” Fast forward to today and Don’s pioneering research into the world of positive and strengths psychology has been turned into a comprehensive online assessment tool called CliftonStrengths. This online assessment has allowed over 34 million people to understand their unique talents and transform the way they approach their career, relationships and teams. If you’re ready to discover your own unique talents and how leverage them to improve your personal and professional life - this workshop is for you. How To Write A Will - Interview With Lawyer Abbey John
Writing a Will is on my 'adult life admin' to do list but something I keep putting off because it's uncomfortable to think about AND feels like something future Ash can worry about instead. After speaking with friends I realised I'm not the only one who thinks like this. So, to help all of us be high achievers in this life AND the afterlife I invited in an expert. Yes, Lawyer Abbey John specialises in making the tough conversations easier and has helped people all over Australia to write Wills. What I've come to realise after speaking with Abbey is that writing one (even a basic one that can be edited later) is an act of love and care for everyone around me. Dealing with loss is horrible. Being left with a mess of sorting out what's left can break families and friends apart at a time they need to be together most. Questions we discuss include: * So, what is a legally binding Will anyway? * What are some of the issues that we should consider when writing one? * Do you need to include your pets in a Will? * What should we do if we inherit the responsibility of sorting out someone else's final wishes? * Can you specify that people have to do certain things with the money / assets you leave them? * What if you don't have anyone you'd like to leave things to?* What happens if you write a Will and then have a breakup, child or change of circumstances? Meditation: Calm Your Busy Mind (in less than 10 minutes)
Today’s episode is a guided meditation designed to help you quickly hit pause on your busy mind and bring you back to the present moment.During a stressful time, meditation has been scientifically proven to activate our parasympathetic nervous system. Which is really just a fancy way of saying, if we are stressed and in a ‘fight or flight’ mode it can help us to feel calmer and enter a rest and digest mode. So while Meditation can’t magically remove all of the stressful things in our lives – it can help to make them feel a lot easier to cope with.A lot of people will say to me Ash, I can’t meditate because my mind is too busy.If you can relate to this feeling don’t worry, you’re not alone.Studies show that almost 50% of the time our minds are thinking about something other than what we are currently doing. And the good news for all of us with busy minds is that meditation isn’t actually about creating a completely blank mind. It’s normal for thoughts to pop into your head during a meditation and I find that doing a guided one like this is a great way to use a meditation teachers as an anchor to keep coming back to. Thank you for meditating with me. I hope you have the most beautiful day.
