A Doctor and An Editor: Dr Shivali Fulchand

Dr Shivali Fulchand @skadeca has a passion for shaping the future of healthcare. Although she trained and qualified in medicine, her creative instincts and love of writing were always close at hand. During her student years, she channeled that energy into founding a medical journal for students that continues to thrive today, a testament to her early vision and drive.Whilst working in hospitals,  Shivali found herself increasingly drawn to the bigger picture - questioning not just how medicine is practiced, but how it can be improved. That curiosity led her to explore different perspectives beyond the clinical environment including completing a Postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University (USA) and working a corporate job as a consultant. Today, she brings together her clinical insight and creative flair in her role as an editor for the British Medical Journal, helping to shape conversations that influence the future of healthcare.
