Reny is a lifetime martial artists who presently trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Pekiti Tirsia kali edged weapons. He is an instructor at Cyclone Martial arts academy and conducts the local community Women's self defense group. Billy is also a lifelong martial arts enthusiasts and former HEMA specialist. He is a lead BJJ instructor at Cyclone Martial arts and is the lead hand to hand combat specialist for the New Orleans Police Department.

Today we sit down with Zack Young, a lifelong fitness enthusiast, triathlete, crossfitter and now Jiu Jitsu Practitioner! At an early age Zack suffered a spinal injury but it hadn't stopped him physically. Having competed in swimming, marathons, cycling and all together in triathlons, Zack has finally found time to fit in Jiu Jitsu to his lifestyle! Join us as we discuss all of the above as well as his duties serving his community as Justice of the Peace here in St. Charles Parish.

Police officers vs Fireman? That's a battle that has a long history and this weekend, Nov. 10th it's settled in the ring! We are joined today by last episodes guest Myron Gaudet along with his business partner Angellia Spitale and a man that needs no introduction if you are familiar with the local fight and martial arts scene of Louisiana - The Butcher Boy! Mr. Joey Ancona! We sit and discuss the history of the Battle of the Badges and one of their new non-profit ventures MAK (martial arts for kids) which helps those in need financially to keep their kids training jiu jitsu, karate, kickboxing, boxing, wrestling...etc whatever it may be. Look for future episodes with Angel as we plan to discuss her adventure into the world of martial arts and self defense. A true success story of perseverance, strength and growth.

Myron is also an mma referee having worked over 3k fights since the 90’s. We also delve into some personal life, school, aspirations, pups, the Paul Brothers, possible WWE dreams and which one of the besties is the better fighter ;-). Round Table Combatives 101
Welcome to Round Table Combatives Podcast. We will be hosting discussion on all things related to martial arts! Everything from training, fitness, recovery, sport fighters, hobbyist etc. In this first episode we introduce ourselves and interview two of our local gym's students. Reny is a life long martial arts enthusiast and presently practicing and coaching both BJJ and Pekiti Tirsia Kali , edged weapons fighting. He also conducts his communities Women's Self Defense program. Billy is also a lifelong martial artist and is one of the lead instructors at Cyclone Martial arts academy. He instructs both adults and the kids programs (of of the largest in Louisiana). Billy is also the lead hand to hand combat instructor for the New Orleans Police Department.
